My choice is Blues, but I clean house to Dixieland Jazz. When my kids
would hear the music, one of them said, "I can almost smell the lemon
Pledge."

Wow. That looks like it was filmed a million years ago, doesn't it? My
brother is 8 years older than I am, and he liked them. He also plays
the trumpet.

martin mull has a bit on 'martin mull and his fabulous furniture in *your*
loiving room' talking about how his grandfather taught him the blues:

'he had a *higher quality* blues than many people. in fact, they were
almost middle-class. we used to kid him about it - we called him "blind
lemon pledge".'

(a fine record - he plays ukulele blues on a plastic ukulele with a slide,
and '2001 polka' must be heard to be beleived.)

your pal,
blake
