Ginger tea a good remedy for sore throat, cold, etc
 
GINGER TEA (TEA WITHOUT TEA)
Boil 500 ml of water.
Add some slices of fresh ginger root.
Reduce flame.
Cook for 10 minutes and strain.
Add honey and/or lemon juice of your choice.
Drink hot.
(Good remedy for sore throat, cold, etc.)

I cooked mine quite a bit longer, to get more of the ginger taste.
'Course, I like ginger, and I do notice, it helps with the sinuses, and is
also good for digestion.

It's an infusion. Used for thousands of years.

Speaking of ginger, I ordered a fresh "carrot, apple, celery and
ginger juice from a local juice bar today that nearly choked me to
death. It's one of my favourite combinations, especially when I need a
bit of a pick-me-up before lunch.

What I didn't expect was for the person who made the drink to put the
ginger in first, which meant that I got a huge hit of raw ginger juice
when I got to the bottom which caused me to start coughing and
sneezing so hard that my wife, who was inside a nearby shoe store,
came out to see if I was OK.

In fact, I coughed so hard that I now have a sore throat *thanks* to
ginger.
