Just out of curiosity I bought a two pack of thermometers made for a
refrigerator and freezer and put them in both. My fridge is running just about 32-35 dregrees F and my freezer is hovering right at 0 F. I just wondered what optimum temps are in both. As cold as the fridge is, I've never had anything freeze or come close. Thanks. |

I like to keep the fridge as cold as possible without anything freezing. Most freezing compartments of refrigerator/freezers are not capable of much below 0 to -5 degrees, which is fine for short to moderate term storage. I keep my standalone freezer at -20 degrees. -- Wayne Boatwright (correct the spelling of "geemail" to reply) ************************************************** ********************** Date: Tuesday, 01(I)/13(XIII)/09(MMIX) ************************************************** ********************** Countdown till Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 5dys 9hrs 40mins ************************************************** ********************** 'You can find the way for no one but yourself.' - Bradford Shank ************************************************** ********************** |

But every time you open the door the temp goes up, as it does every time you put something warm in it. So to give me a little wiggle room I keep the refrigerator at a few degrees below 40. -aem |

I like my drinks cold, plus things keep much longer. Brian -- If televison's a babysitter, the Internet is a drunk librarian who won't shut up. -- Dorothy Gambrell (http://catandgirl.com) |

It came programmed for 37 degrees F for the refrigerator section and 0 degrees F for the freezer section. I have left it unchanged. It's a bottom freezer, French doors model. It'll probably go lower toward the end of the week :-) -- Silvar Beitel |
