How long does coconut milk (out of a can) last in the firdge? I put
them ina bowl and covered it with saran wrap becayse at the time, the containers were dirty. Now, I don't want to transfer but how soon should I use it. Is freezing a recommendation if I don't use it soon? |

If it was NOT in the can longer than a day and in new clean containers under 6 It has been my experience ok to freeze -No problems ever In fact I decant into ice block trays and just take how many blocks I need later on . Hope that helps |

When I had no choice than to use large cans of coconut milk for making my version of what the kids used to call "Poison Crew," I could keep the leftover milk in the fridge in a glass bowl or glass covered with plastic wrap for up to four days if I thought I'd be using it for more fish. If not, I'd freeze it ... but it tended to separate and turn a sort of grey colour and separate as it defrosted. Then I'd gently mix it with a fork until it more or less returned to it's original state. Tasted fine though. BTW - I always use the "lite" coconut milk rather than coconut cream because, despite thinking it would be otherwise, the milk tasted richer to me, as well as the people who shared the "Poison Crew.". -- una cerveza mas por favor ... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~ Wax-up and drop-in of Surfing's Golden Years: <http://www.surfwriter.net> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Today is the third day. Since I opended it and transferred to the bowl immediately. I am going to use it tomorrow or tonight. > > If not, I'd freeze it ... but it tended to separate and turn a sort of > grey colour and separate as it defrosted. I never thought of buying that. I did buy shredded coconut and ate it with sweet rice but I am avoiding such treats these days. > > nb |

Benefiting from other people's experience is one of the main reasons I enjoy this ng. Even though I put plastic wrap on the surface of my guacamole before refrigerating, I never thought to use this method before freezing coconut milk. Can't wait to try it out. b -- una cerveza mas por favor ...
