20ct shrimp, butter, olive oil, garlic, green onions, chardonnay,
smoked paprika and a smattering of thyme. I decided against the
cheese.

Another dish you'll find all over Pittsburgh. There was also some
baby leek kimchi on the side.

Smart! Cheese is generally too strong for fish shellfish.

Depends on the cheese, but that's a personal opinion.

Hey, you forgot to mention the:

kelbasa and kraut
hot italian sausage, green peppers, onions and tomato sauce
and most importantly,
Pirogies, lightly browned in butter and onions...

Good god man, how could you forget the Pirogies....

With luck, healthy player and a bad ass defense,
this could be #6 for the Steelers...

A couple of the Cantonese restaurants in town do a great deep-fried
shrimp where the batter is 2/3rds cheese parmesean/romano cheese -
or a similar cheese.

I really like those, and that's what I was thinking when I announced
my dish. And yes, I know these are quite a strange item to be on a
Cantonese menu.

I did have pork and sauerkraut later on in the evening. Leftovers
from earlier in the week.

Fried Zucchini
Big Macs
And Klondikes for dessert

(I grew up and went to school with many of the Isaly kids, so I
always have to have chipped ham and Klondikes)

Is Isaly's still in business? I was in Pittsburgh over the summer and
didn't see a single Isaly's.

You could also try homemade Primanti Brothers sandwiches, which would
have slaw and fries on the sandwich.

http://www.isalys.com/

Mostly a distributor nowadays, IIRC. I think there's one store left
somewhere.
