Default What about Wiccans?

In his speech Obama acknowledged the contributions of Christians,
Muslims, Jews, Hindus, and non-believers.

I believe he failed to include everybody!

I believe the last two on your list are also Christians, maybe not
mainstream in some cases but otherwise still Christians. At least the
ones I've met have been.

Don't know any satanists, know a few pagans, which what Wiccans are too.

There are a lot of religions practiced in the US. He didn't have time
(and the nation didn't have the patience) to name every one.

I'm not sure that the Mormons constitute a separate religion. They
believe the Jesus Christ is the son of God, and the main group call
themselves The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I would
lump them in with the Christians.

Yes, Steve, he did:
Bahais, Buddhists, Wiccans, Zoroastrians, Jains, Santarians,

While it certainly would not have been practical to try to list all
known superstitions (religions), he should have included something like
"...and others" to be all inclusive.

Yes, he could have done that, and he could have given some sort
of explicit nod to Native Americans many of whom practice their native
religions. Instead he went on and on about the founding fathers etc.

but mentioning non-believers *is* a step forward. (i wish he'd said
'atheists,' though.) i don't think that happens too often.

(yes, i know 'non-believers' would include atheists and agnostics, but i
think the word 'atheist' now carries a lot of unnecessary baggage, like the
word 'muslim.')

Yah got it backwards, Greg. No need for any device, just some ropes to
make sure the accused witch can't cheat by swimming. If the witch
doesn't drown, that is proof that she used her witch powers, and so they
burn her at the stake. If she drowns, then she must not be a witch, so
she will receive her reward in heaven.

ATR? (African Traditional Religion) i could have hoped in such a
statement that BHO (cant very well refer to him as BO would have
included the African Diasporic Religions as practiced by African
Americans, conjure, Hoodoo, root work etc. which i understand santeria,
candelaria, 7 powers are off shoots of.

Though im told that while a potent presence in the African American
community it is rarely spoken of to outsiders.

From my limited experience I would tend to agree. I went to a Wiccan
wedding 6 years ago. It was held ion Friday the 13th... on purpose. It
started off about an hour and half late because the guy officiating
forgot his broom. That was just as well because most of the guests were
more than an hour late arriving. The officiator was all decked out in
Indian buckskins and spent more time talking about himself than the
about the service or the bride and groom. I don't know why they could
not have used a broom from the janitor's closet at the hall, but
apparently his had some special significance.

The ceremony involved binding the bride and grooms hands with about a
dozen different coloured strings, each supposedly having some special
significance. Then they had to jump over a sword and a broom. It was an
experience.

Or "bridge room" if you want to refer to part of a ship and really sound
like a land lubber.

I suppose a "bridge moor" could be a troll.

I thought El Cid wiped bridge moors out but google doesn't confirm. At
