I now have 449 e mail addresses in my killfile. Of that, over 125 comes
from this group-whether it be the trolls, the crossposters with messages of hate or the selling of 'handbags' or some such. I have to wonder why this group specifically seems to attract the idiots more so than other discussion groups. Any thoughts? |

Any thoughts? A lot of the idiots were pulled in here by Master Idiot Peter Lucas last month...there were/are a LOT of them. Then there are the rfc idiots (Omelet, Wayne Boatwright, amongst others) who thought that Lucas was a "nice guy" and so "fed the fire", so to speak...so killfiling *them* got rid of a lot of the Lucas garbage. There are a few who x-post from the uk food - drink group, these are pretty much all useless idjits... There is still a lot of commercial spam, althoug killfiling the gmail domain helps somewhat...others killfile all posts emanating from Goggle. And hopefully with the US political scene settling down we'll see less of the x-posted political trolls... HTH FWIW -- Best Greg |

So with that many killfiles being required for filtering on addresses, perhaps you can see that there's a more efficient way. -- Blinky Killing all posts from Google Groups - The Usenet Improvement Project: http://improve-usenet.org |

Any thoughts? It's not just this newsgroup. And you'll notice that Most of the spam & trolls come from people using google.groups instead of a Usenet news service. The problem could be solved in a instant if legitimate posters would stop using google.groups and use a proper news client/server. And yes. I could filter out all google.group posts. But because quite a few of the regular contributors here - and other ng's - stoop to using google.groups, I would miss some valuable posts. Why people continue to use google.groups when there are far better alternatives available is beyond my understanding. -- una cerveza mas por favor ... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~ Wax-up and drop-in of Surfing's Golden Years: <http://www.surfwriter.net> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~ |

About 99% of the time I ignore you even when you keep taking pot shots at me such as this . I also notice that you have not taken up the offer of a face to face - Thus proving the contention contained in many posts that you are full of wind and just all bluff bluster. Unlike others I only post either my own initials or with the preface of pits in most NG.s Thus allowing your infamous kill files to work . Give it a break will you ! You and most with a working brain cell should know you bought all the strife upon yourself over many years of stalking Faking your own trolls etc In effect talking and mailing yourself. It's using Google to *post* to newsgroups that's the problem, because: 1. Most, if not ALL of newsgroup spam & trolls is sent via Goggle. 2. Google doesn't make it easy to snip, so replies contain all of the text from the previous post. 3. Most of the legitimate posters who use Google don't know, let alone respect Usenet etiquette. Really and truly you are making a total dick of yourself with all this Lucas baiting rubbish and crossposting. Goodness knows I have enough reasons to have a very high dislike of Lucas and I think he's a total bag of excrement. However I would never lower myself to his level as you've been doing for months. Your constant baiting and dragging up old posts, makes you look a bigger fool than Lucas and that is saying something. |
