Default Leftover Popcorn for Breakfast Cereal?

Alton Brown just said he likes leftover popcorn served for breakfast
with whole milk or half&half and sugar. Just like Kix cereal...sort of?

Have you ever eaten popcorn thusly?

Yum... (Not!!) Nothing like salty buttery popcorn with milk and sugar.

Maybe he should try CornFlakes with beer.

No, I haven't. It sounds quite soggy.

It does feature in _Farmer Boy_. Almanzo Wilder liked to eat
popcorn in milk. It didn't sound good to me then, either.

Popcorn was a breakfast food of the early American settlers.

That's a light breakfast.

I guessed someplace like that
The first time I had kettle corn was in German markets. Just a very
light sweetener added to the oil before popping.

No, but I've put in chicken soup as a sort of
faux sizzling rice soup. It's okay, but not
as good as the real thing.

No surprises there...

When are you going to come out of the closet and admit you're a shameless
cocksucking, jizz gulping man-sauce junkie pete?

The naysayers on this site have mostly (and in immature fashion) not tried it. I first read about it recently in the New York Times "Food and Drink" issue, in the "Culture" section wherein they say, "1811: In the early 19th century, people ate 'dinner' at midday and a lighter 'supper' in the evening. Breakfast consisted mainly of leftovers, and it was served cold so as to not require a fire. Among the delicacies: a picked-over carcass, fruit pie and — a precursor to Corn Pops — stale popcorn in milk."

So, I, not a fan of breakfast cereals, tried it topped with sweetener. It is delicious! The saltiness of the popcorn with whatever sweetening agent you prefer gives it a nice savory-sweet contrast. The popcorn, as all know, does shrink, but doesn't shrivel up as I expected. Try this (and other new ventures) before passing judgment.

haha that sounds disgusting! Has anyone done any studies on how healthy/unhealthy this is? Breakfast is supposed to be the best meal of the day right?...you know, to get you the energy you need? I don't know, it sounds pretty nasty to me.

I thought this sounded disgusting, but I decided to try it before making a comment.
....lo and behold, I found it to be quite good. Even with the salt and butter on it, the added sugar made it taste like a tasty corn puf cereal. I was realy surprised.

Hmm. Might have to give it a rip.

Popcorn and hminy have accompanied the ceviches of S. America for quite some time; but for breakfast. Odd by, like peanut butter and banana, might be just the thing.
