Default I tried another roasted root veggie

In my fridge I had a bag of radishes that needed to be used so I thought
that since they are root veggies they could be good roasted. I love raw
radishes in salad but I didn't have all of the salad fixins to make one so I
roasted the radishes in OO along with some potato chucks, skin on. I was
going to have the veggies along with the leftover chicken from yesterday but
the veggies filled me up.

The roasted radishes were more like carrots in that they take a while to get
soft. The taste isn't anything like eating the raw. I don't think I'll
cook them again that way, but they weren't completely inedible.

In terms of cooking, I think of a radish as a kind of watery turnip. I
haven't found a cooking method for them which I consider GOOD, but I found
that if you split them and then pan-cook them cut-side-down in clarified
butter until the cut edge caramelizes, they're not too offensive.

That's great you were adventurous enough to try it. Thanks for letting
us know how it turned out.

I cook radishes all the time. We like them here.
And no, they don't taste the same as they do raw, but imho they are
still good.

I cook the greens too.
