Default International pancake day

My Roadfood calendar lists a goodly number of national this or that
food days. But tomorrow is International Pancake Day. INTERnational.
Does IHOP have an in with the food-day cabal?

I, for one, plan not to observe the festivities. Pancakes are not my
favorite.

I'll take yours. I love good pancakes. And French toast.
And eggs. And bacon, even turkey bacon.

I could live on breakfast.

Don't stop by for dinner at my house, then. I think I'll do my Shrove
Tuesday trick and have pancakes for dinner.

P.S. I couldn't find International Pancake Day on Feb. 5, 2009!?! Everything
points to Feb. 24, 2009. --A

Too bad I was busy yesterday and didn't see this. I could have
made ricotta pancakes for brekky.

I think I will. I need a quick dinner for tonight to be able to make
parent-teacher meeting at 7pm. I've got a few premade quick-pancake mix
batches in the pantry and some buttermilk that expires on Saturday so its a
natural. I have some turkey bacon that needs to be used too.

It was a pancake morning in my house today. Mickey Mouse was lookin'
good until one of his ears came off when I flipped him. Mickey II
didn't fare much better. The kid tried to give me the chocolate chips
so I could make Mick's eyes and nose. I said, "Guess again, Twerp!
This was YOUR idea, you put his eyes and nose in." Also, I do NOT
allow m&ms on pancakes in my kitchen. Gag me with a fork. Chocolate
chips are bad enough.

Pancakes by Hungry Jack: Add water and shake-a, shake-a, shake-a.
Bacon by Bob the Pigmeat Guy at Amor Pork (amorpork.com). Eggs by
Cluck Gable.

Not that I would ever need an excuse to devour a shortstack with
butter and real Maple Syrup + eggs, bacon, etc, but International
Pancake Day came and went in New Zealand without a mention or a
pancake.

Nah, just the pancakes. In years gone by, my husband packed a pancake in my
lunch one day, and I later mailed one to a daughter away at school. The
reaction from co-workers and fellow students was unanimous: EEWWW!

I am alone in southern France, where it is rainy. Comforted myself with 3-
in-de-pan, small rather thick pancakes with raisins. Served with molasses
and sugar. i have no molasses here, so I used Gula Djawa, liquid palm
sugar.

Not on your life. Neither one of us would have consigned a blueberry pancake
to the postal service.

No, they deserve to be eaten hot, with butter.

If you like crispelles here's a scanned page from food and wine for
them stuffed with ricotta. They're wonderful. To me crispelles/crepes
are very similar to pancakes. These make a very impressive light
lunch.

Thanks. I didn't realize they'd be stuffed with ricotta,
I thought it was one of the crepe ingredients.

I imagine they would stick pretty easily. I also was interested in
seeing the ricotta pancake recipe.
