Default Thank You All!

I just want to thank everyone for being here and for inspiring others
(like me, for example) to cook. It's been quite awhile since I've
cooked as much as I have in the past month. Everyone here is happy
that Mommy is reading RFC.

No, Thank YOU Carol! I made the Greek Barley Salad you posted and
took it to a potluck lunch at my synagogue today. I got seven
requests for the recipe! Cost me less than ten bucks to double the
recipe. The lunch was for an obscure, oddball but fun Jewish holiday
that celebrates the seven grains and the fruits that are mentioned in
the Bible . . . I had forgotten that one of them is barley! One of
the gals who asked for the recipe is a licensed dietician. From
where did that recipe originate?

Well, I fried some oatmeal pancakes today. More to come ... the
recipe makes a lot!

Yesterday, I made Bob Terwilliger's infamous gingerbread with mustard
powder and black pepper. Tasty, but a bit on the dry side for my
taste. No one here could identify either of the weird spices, even
knowing that they are there.

Also yesterday, I made brownies from a box mix. We're out of cocoa,
and the mix was there, so .... (I still like mine better)

Friday night, I made potato soup with ham. A huge hit!

Earlier last week, we made the Italian beef sandwiches. They were
scarfed down in record time.

I'm loving cooking again!

I'm glad it went over so well! The original recipe was from the
Alberta Barley Commission. I can't recall what changes I made to the
recipe as it was written.

No, I will have them set up killfiles for when Sheldon returns, and
they'll never have to know.
