Gods, doesn't it feel good to be moving again? I usually get one major
bronchitis per year and I go to my allergist for treatment because he's
willing to be aggressive about it, with both antibiotics and steroids to
get me over the hump in a reasonable time period.

I'm not supposed to ride my bike until I'm "well", until the coughing
and wheezing has totally subsided. But what I have discovered over the
years is that I don't *get* well, not completely, until I start riding
again. What it feels like to me is that the aftermath of the infection
leaves my lungs stuck partway closed like wet plastic bags. Getting out
and riding hard enough to make myself breathe deep makes me cough hard
and sort of reinflates the stuck patches and helps bring up the residual
crud.

I have chronic asthma and I have antibiotics and steroids 'in house' to
start on them instantly if I have problems.

btw to follow up from my last mail, my Blue loves carrots, brocolli and
peppers)

Hehe, who knew)))

It's funny that you often don't miss stuff until you've lost it. :-)
It was nice to be able to run again so I totally understand!

I'm using ice on the bruising from the treatment. Have you tried steam
for the bronchitis?

Ah, the blessings of good health.

I shudder to think of the time I played Russian roulette with a very fast
car.

Broken wing mirror!

Had enough of everything and everyone, on a long straight narrow road.

Guy coming the other way must have felt the same way.

Put my foot down and undid the seat belt.

Felt the passing draught even with all the windows shut.

Hope that turns out well and wishing you a speedy recovery.

The wife of a former colleague had her thyroid taken out in December,
but the tumour had compressed a nerve and surgery may have further
damaged it. Right now the poor thing can't swallow decently and has to
be fed through a tube temporarily. It's getting better but not fast
enough to suit her.

It comes up here, second article down. Sorry. :-)
I was too lazy to re-post it.

I'm currently still icing the bruises that the Dr. inflicted this week.
Only 3 treatments and I can finally run again for the first time in 9
months. Actually, I was able to run after the second one. It's pretty
miraculous. They live up to their claims. My stride is shorter than I'd
like it to be as the affected muscle is still a bit stiff, but I still
have a lot of home PT to do. I've got the jump stretch bands on order
that he told me to get.

Airrosti works.

Wah indeed. :-( I love Haagen-Dasz! It's been about 2 years since I've
eaten ice cream. <sigh> Ben and Jerry's is rather good too.

Some people just grow extras (shrug). None of my dentists have seemed
surprised.

If only extra wisdom teeth conferred actual wisdom.

Wow, I've never heard of that. Were they the "extra" two that were
removed?

The name implies that the wisdom teeth come in late (at the age of
wisdom) and are supposed to be the very last teeth at both ends of both
jaws. It seems quite possible to me that there could be a mismatch
between the mouth and some regular teeth necessitating removal.

I only grew in 4 of them in my early 20's.

I had space so was able to keep them... So far, so good.

Lucky you! I only had three myself. The dentist said something about it
being a matter of evolution -- we don't need the wisdom teeth.

Since I had a molar pulled when I was a teen, the wisdom tooth that came
in pushed the other molar over and bridged the gap. I only had to have
two wisdom teeth removed when they did finally have to be extracted.

No. I had four on top and two on the bottom. I had one top and one
bottom
removed on the right side. Absolutely no idea why they left the one;
they
were right in there with the pliers, chisels, and dynamite.

Maybe they figured the wife would want a new fur coat a few years down
the line.

I have been making these with a ton of chopped spinach very well drained
(squozed all to hell, actually), butter and a bit of parmesan, a bit of
shredded cheddar. Salt, pepper, mmmm.

oh god, yes.

General Jack D. Ripper: Do you realize that in addition to fluoridating
water, why, there are studies underway to fluoridate salt, flour, fruit
juices, soup, sugar, milk, ice cream? Ice cream, Mandrake? Children's ice
cream!...You know when fluoridation began?...1946. 1946, Mandrake. How does
that coincide with your post-war Commie conspiracy, huh? It's incredibly
obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious
bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual, and certainly
without any choice. That's the way your hard-core Commie works.

[...]

Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: Uh, Jack, Jack, listen, tell me, tell me,
Jack. When did you first... become... well, develop this theory?

General Jack D. Ripper: Well, I, uh... I... I... first became aware of it,
Mandrake, during the physical act of love.

Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: Hmm.

General Jack D. Ripper: Yes, a uh, a profound sense of fatigue... a feeling
of emptiness followed. Luckily I... I was able to interpret these feelings
correctly. Loss of essence.

Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: Hmm.

General Jack D. Ripper: I can assure you it has not recurred, Mandrake.
Women uh... women sense my power and they seek the life essence. I, uh... I
do not avoid women, Mandrake.

Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: No.

General Jack D. Ripper: But I... I do deny them my essence.

you can take a little stroll down memory lane he
