But, as Julia Sugarbaker once said, "down here in the south we put our crazy

The guys who spill the beans are in cahoots with the cut rate coffee
companies, see.

I think that it was an exaggeration.... otherwise, I agree with you.

IMO: multi-bean mixes were around a long time before they were
packaged commercially.

You're being charitable! Not the basement or the closet?

I'd agree with that. My totally-unsupported guess is that somebody wanted to
make soup one day but didn't have enough of any one bean variety, so he or
she used up odds and ends of the various dried beans in the pantry. Other
people liked the soup, and the recipe entered into common usage.

Happened to see the very colorful 15 Bean Soup package
when I went shopping. Made the soup per the recipe The Ranger
posted last week. Had the soup in the crockpot all night.
Wow, my house smells great! Now I am baking a baguette.
That with some salad will make a great dinner tonight.
Thank you for the recipe Ranger!
Elly

I did the same. I tried to make about half as much and added a few drops of
Pickapeppa. It was great, thanks Ranger.

You're welcome Elly. I've been working more "heat" into my cooking so my
Bland Bunch allow me more leeway. It's a slow process sometimes.
