Got some chicken curry simmering on the stove top... My Dear Son walks
into my kitchen and says, 'That sure smells good'. So I say, 'Wanna taste it and see if it needs anything?' He nods... I hand him a (clean) spoon and he has a taste. Then he says, 'Gee that tastes great, Ma. How the heck do you do that?' I says, 'I dunno. I just add this and that...' <grin> Made my day. Who else has some great cooking compliments to share? -- Cheers Chatty Cathy |

Best I can do is write out something with "guidelines"... When the rfc Cookbook was being collated a few years ago I really wanted to submit a recipe, but I simply could not construct a recipe. And this was for potato salad, something that is not all that complex... -- Best Greg |

... > Who else has some great cooking compliments to share? Anytime the kids get excited about what I'm cooking for dinner it makes my day. And it's just about everytime I cook(which is quite often, of course). I don't really cook much for others. I'm always the one to bring the deviled eggs and broccoli casserole to all the family get-togethers, and my mother in law says, "You bring the deviled eggs, everybody likes yours" so of course that made me feel great, as she was who basically taught me to cook. In fact, she hand-wrote a recipe book for me with all the stuff she cooks, including her yearly Christmas goodies. Marie |

I make caramel popcorn with peanuts and they took 2 gallons of it with them and wrote as they left to thank us. It's a simple recipe but it takes arm strength to make it without breaking the kernels. None of our friends can make it. They have wine labeled for their charter boat so they give us wine and we give them caramel corn. Wine has little effect on me but Louise get toasted. The last time we drank the wine she got all silly and pulled my britches down in the kitchen. Upon conclusion I said I have to send Katie more popcorn. Louise found it so funny she spit a foreign substance on the kitchen floor. Moral of the story is make lots of caramel corn and drink it closer to the sink. Lou <-------popping corn and waiting for the new batch of wine. |
