The Commercial String is a dead give away on the chook

But the Prawns do look nice
The bottom line is our animals eat better food than this -------
then we eat the animals

We had the last of it on sandwiches yesterday. The garlic butter and lemon
slices under the skin give the breast meat a nice moist flavour :-)

I've stuffed butter and herbs under the skin prior to roasting.
Works well!

I got some really big ones last week for $5.99 per lb.
Seriously, they were larger than my thumb.
They've had some serious sales lately!

Once peeled?

If so, that is about 'normal' size.

Good price though, if they were fresh (not frozen).

I've read a good wedding day prank is to hide some shrimps in the
hubcaps of the newlyweds car.

Fresh from the gulf coast this time, but more often fresh frozen.

Must be, or they are desperate for sales.
Either way, I have a passion for prawns/shrimps
and will eat them when I can!

LOL!! An oldie, but a goodie :-)

Then there's the couple of small fish, wrapped in paper, and stuffed under
the seat :-)

I only buy fresh stuff now, because more than likely, there's always
leftovers, and we can freeze them ourselves to use later in stir-frys etc.

The only issue I have with leftover shrimp is the texture tends to
suffer. I try not to cook any more than I can eat in one sitting now.
IMHO freezing them raw, they really don't suffer that much.

Most gulf shrimp is flash-frozen anyway.

The economy...

By the way, I told Dr. Perry what you said this morning.
He replied that he's always up for a trip to Australia. ;-)

He worked out a nasty old lump from a damaged Quadricep muscle this
morning. I've no idea how or where the damage came from on the LEFT side!
Hurt, but now the lump is smoothed out. I did not have the hand
strength to do it myself.

The man is skilled.

No trouble Mark.

All I did was slip down to the superrmarket deli and buy the best
cooked bird on display.

We have wonderful BBQ chickens at our supermarkets.

Do you like the plate I have it on?
The Salvation Army wanted $4.50 but I managed to knock them it down to
$2.99.

As well as being an exceedingly excellent chef I am also a magnificant
haggler.

I had stuffed garlic butter and lemon slices under the breast skin, and had
put a whole (cut) lemon and half a head of garlic into the cavity.... so in
essence, it had some butter on it already!!

But I know what you mean, I like nothing more than hot chicken on a fresh
bread roll with plenty of butter :-)

Peter,
Wow, what a gorgeous bird!! Believe me when I tell you that I could
tear that chicken up real fast! A piranha would have nothing on me. I
so love chicken!
I don't know if others might find this odd, but sometimes after I
cut off some of the chicken, I like to spread butter over the pieces.
That is so good!

I see that Peter did not make any claim that they were a product of his own
effort.....

I love our BBQ chickens bought in the local Woolworths supermarket....I love
chicken both hot and cold...

Now those prawns look like our (Oz) Black Tiger Prawns...Yum.....

Actually Barry, yes the chook *was* a product of my own effort.

I don't like the so-called 'stuffing' they use, so never buy them.

And besides, for the price of one cooked one, you could buy 2 large fresh
ones and do them yourself!!
