Will butter freeze and still taste good when thawed?
On sale for $1. Should I freeze a few pounds for the next 6 months or should I just keep it without freezing for spreading on toast. |

Butter freezes and thaws perfectly. All the butter I buy goes into the freezer. I take one or two quarters out as needed and let them thaw in the refrigerator. -aem |

I'm happy when I can get Grade AA butter for $2/lb. Cheapest I've seen butter in a couple of years is $1.88. |

Wrapped airtight (we put the original packs into ziptop bags and seal them) and stored in coldest part of freezer. Thaw in the fridge in the wrapping. |

I freeze butter all the time. AAMOF, I grate frozen butter for biscuits and pie crusts. I use the big holes on the box grater. |

Just wrap it well in plastic wrap before you freeze it if its sold in that wax paper wrap. |

It sure is tasty. I don't eat bread, so have little use for butter any more. -- Peace! Om I find hope in the darkest of days, and focus in the brightest. I do not judge the universe. -- Dalai Lama |
