I'm still missing a mutual fund statement. Some of them don't come out
until March. <sigh>

When I DO get the tax refund, it's generally fresh seafood. Family
member's choice of live dungeness or Lobster.

I usually find I need a lot more cabbage and quite a bit more dough.

By "warmed asparagus" do you mean asparagus which is essentially raw but
which has been warmed up?

I think they are *required* by federal law to provide (or at least mail)
that information by Jan. 31. You might be able to speed things up if you
make a phone call to that effect if it happens next year. It's probably a
bit late to do it this year since you said "March," and we are already
there.

Mary...everyone here has a computer. I don't believe you are
standing in line at the library to use the public computers.

I went to the web site of anything I needed and downloaded the
required information. If you haven't received information by
March, you ain't gonna get it.

I have a similar situation. They send a letter in January stating that
they won't have the necessary information until March 31.

You are responding to me, but the message did not involve my tax
statements--I was actually responding to Om. Nevertheless, a computer would
not be of much use for the problem that was described. If I interepreted
correctly, the mutual fund company apparently did not send the *personal*
statement that is needed for income taxes!!

Duh! I suddenly realized what you meant. Indeed, Om (or anyone else)
*could* print an annual statement from the computer *if* online access has
been set up.

W-2's from Employers, yes. Statements from investment funds, no. They
send out a letter every year in January giving a date of March xxx to
deliver said statement.

It's annoying, but the interest rate has been good up until now. :-P

Does not matter. The accounting information for the fund is not
available at all until the set date. Iirc, it's around March 15th.

Mary...I was trying to point you in that direction!! I have online
access to every financial account including IRS data on a secure
server. Relying on mail today is so last century.

I have even heard of W-2's being stolen from mail boxes...guess what,
everything necessary for identiy theft is included in a W-2, including
your SSN!

Yes, that's what I meant by my follow-up. I realized what you meant almost
immediately after I clicked on "send." So, the "Duh!" in my follow-up was
aimed at myself and not at you.

Thanks!
