OK, I got other stuff, but still problem. Recipe say "2 T nonfat powdered
milk" OK, I wus gonna buy some n/f pwdr milk. $5.75!!! Are you freakin' kidding me? It's crap pwdr milk, ferchrisakes. Did I mention $3.38lb for corned beef!!?? Who the Hell said Walmart was a deal? .....ok,ok.. Anyone got a recipe not needing powdered milk? (grrr.....) nb |

(grrr.....) > > Just leave it out, you likely wouldn't miss it... milk makes bread a bit more tender/wussy is all, you may like a more robust bread better anyway.... instead of powdered milk you can always substitute part of your liquid with whole milk 1 : 1. |

FYI when searching net for bread machine recipes I tend to like any bread

Option two this has proved a helpful resource http://allrecipes.com.au/javascript.aspx It is irritating though how the exact same mix/recipe turns out so bloody different depending on brand . you could always go NO milk recipes . When I get time will rat through the cupboard and find a recipe for you |

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05 Title: Xcarol's Fav Rye bread Categories: Breadmaker, Xxcarol Yield: 12 Servings 1 1/3 c Water 3 tb Butter 2 2/3 c Flour, white or wheat 1 1/3 c Rye flour 3 tb Brown sugar 2 ts Caraway seeds 1 ts Salt 3 tb Gluten powder 2 ts Bread machine yeast A high rising bread, this one will take to whole wheat in part or all of the bread flour. Increase gluten by 1 TB if all whole wheat. You cvan also use regular white sugar in place of the brown. This is for a 2 LB loaf, select whole grain is you have it, if not basic white bread cycle will work. Made even with all white flour, this will be a darker blend of bread. It's effect when made with whole wheat flour is a dark and rustic whole grain goodness. The french will be more crusty and the italian, more chewy. It's ok to devour the first loaf warm with butter in hunks because it's not cool enough to have firmed for cutting (grin). The French one works best for that. The italian will become slicable while still a little warm. |
