the corned beef i used, was bought at COSTCO and is a vienna beef
product. i cooked in the crock pot on low for about 6hours. at the very end, i added a cabbage that was cut in quarters. (served when the cabbage turned a bright spring green) it was great! THANKS for the suggestion of IRISH SODA BREAD. i did bake it with all whole wheat/grain flour and it was great. (and aritifical sweetener drops) i baked it in the oven in a "pam sprayed" iron skillet. it was great! you folks inspire me! thanks, rosie |

I've learned by experience that unless it is specifically labeled otherwise, it's best to start off in liquid and finish off in the oven. -- I never worry about diets.
