Default Is there a website that creates recipes based on ingredients?

I recall someone telling me there is a website where the user enters
what ingredients they have on hand, and the site then produces some
recipes. Or maybe it's not a website but a piece of software to
download or buy? Anyone know?

Being a single male with no cooking creativity at all, this would be
very useful.

Thanks

Jimw

Google is your friend. Do a google search for "recipes ingredients" and
you'll get lots of hits.

There's allrecipes.com, which has been mentioned, and there's
recipezaar.com. Recipezaar.com also has several cooking forums where
you can post questions or comments about cooking or food in general.

I use cooking software that allows you to do that. Its easy to
download from the Internet sites and have the recipes in your
database. I have thousands. I also enjoy using the software because it
makes menus and shopping lists. NYC (find it at ffts.com)

i can't say that i find this site very useful. as an example, i checked,
rice, dried apricot and stock cubes and came back with a grand total of
three recipes. added vinegar, got back the same three. removed vinegar
and added mushrooms, and came back with the same three.

Maybe you'd get more recipes by omitting dried apricot and adding
mushrooms.

I love cooking with wine.
Sometimes I even put it in the food.

possibly. i seem to recall going to the site before (for the hell of it -
if i was really looking for recipes, i'd google [recipe ingredient 1,
ingredient 2, etc]) and being unimpressed.
