Shamelessly stole the topic of this survey from a current thread.

<Thanks Andy>

Nice survey I'd've replied sooner, but I became a bit distracted. I
sure wish the 'TF-designer' would come up with a wardrobe to accompany
all those hats (hint, hint, Andy !). May I claim the #16 TFRibbon
please? Thanks

Sky

Shoot, I was MCwhatever.

I used to do this ages ago, in the 80s when I worked 100 hours a week and
traveled all the time. So did many of my friends. You could describe what
you wanted in meat or fruits, etc. and if you were not happy with their
choices they would come pick it up. My friend ordered rib lamb chops for
her kids, minimal fat and cut small. That's what she got. I ordered small
bananas not green but not freckled. That's what I got. If it hadn't been a
great service I wouldn't have used it but would have paid a person to do it
for me. Before delivery service I used to pay my child to do the shopping
and she wwas great at it.

AFAIAA, there are only a couple of the bigger chain supermarkets that
offer this service here in RSA, but they only deliver to certain areas,
and of course, because we live out in the boonies they don't deliver
out here.

However, even though there is one chain (food) store that I would like
to order from - because I like their produce and I've shopped there
often enough to know that if I asked for a kilogram of tenderloin
steak, or some nice fresh broccoli, I'd get just that - I'd still
hesitate to do so, because I do not trust the local transport they use
to deliver the groceries be properly refridgerated. Sad, but true.
