Howe still sounds like he did in Yes. I love that Fragile album.
Roundabout, South Side of the Sky, I know that diminishes my punkrock
cred. I also love that Snake guy's electric guitar work on the first
Steely Dan album. You're probably familiar with Blind Blake, since
you seem to be a "guitar fag." Nothing against homosexuals or guitar
enthusiasts, but that's the term we use in my subculture. The
Foremost Fingerpicker CD is astounding. If by chance you are not
familiar, you, and others on the NG are in for a treat. Diddy Wah
Diddy has been covered numerous times, but never as good as that old
scratchy vinyl. That song is one that I can identify with.

Hey Bobo ----- Proof positive that music like food is the great
communicator . Cheers & beers to ya Especially on your post .BLIND BLAKE

But music is like food especially if starved of either -all good when
you eventually get it -just some better than others.

Then there is which axe you use Steve Howe and YEs had that big FAT
Rickenbacker bass
Beatles had R- Backers as well
then Roger McGuin with his 12 String
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAejkh4rTjs watch how he gets around in
the second half!!

But 6 strings are enough of a challenge but the big fat bass sound of
yes ----- and he has somehow got his G sounding as it should -sigh

My favorite guitar duo will always be Kieth Richards and Mick Taylor.
As country as the Stones got, they never left Rock'n Roll. Speaking
of Rock'n Roll, Thunders/Sylvain was underrated. Somehow, Heroin
doesn't seem to diminish guitarists, whereas cocaine...let's just say
that IMO, cocaine destroyed Clapton. You might disagree, but I find
everything post-DatD to be about worthless.

When I was a teenager, we would drive to Austin and go to a club on 6th
Street. We would pay $1 admission and sit on the floor to listen to a
nobody named Stevie Ray Vaughan. Once, he played the acoustic guitar
until his fingers bled. He would tape them up and keep on playing. He
died when he was only 35 and when they buried him, there was plenty of
music left in his box. He was the greatest I ever heard, playing live.

As opposed to you and your "band" where everything you have ever done is
worthless.
