I don't think they let anyone over 30 appear on American Idol (which I got sick and tired of years ago). She's not a superskinny model type pretending to be Celine Dion. She has a fantastic voice. Look her up on Youtube. Jill |

Just listened to the track on her MS page (susanboyleuk). Yes she's very good. Not up to the level of Amy Winehouse or Eva Cassidy (I'm using those two as a reference for straight-ahead blues style..), but solidly in the rung right below that. (You can't really draw a comparison to female pop vocalists, most of whom are quite bad singers but some of whom show a lot of creativity and talent in some idiosyncratic aspect of their style...) It's good that she's been noticed, because usually a female singer has to develop a *lot* of style at a relatively young age (20's) before music industry wonks will want to promote her. (Time = money and there's more future money in a young career than an older one. Ageism, in other words, like in any other job.) Steve |

Never have. Never will. Susan Boyle is a contestant on a British show that's similar to American Idol. If you really want to hear a beautiful voice, just go to youtube and search for her, then be wowed! I have heard many singers in my life, but nothing like Susan Boyle. |

Wonderful speakers and the price looks damned good. well done In Computer room pair of klipsche RS10s RW 8 sub woofer for music running through an old Rotel Amp tied to a mixer box from one of the (also allows the Guitar and Midi keyboard ) to feed into them via A B C switch box. The desk top speakers are just Altec Lansing puter speakers OK but not great . Pick most of my gear up at clearing sales and auctions Could not believe my luck when was the only bidder on the Audio gear at a farm clearing sale $50.00 covered in red dust and full of red back spiders . However, the speakers I have had since 1975 Altec 806 8gs with 411b horns and the fairdinkum Cross overs All Altec In Blackwood Monitors (each one weighs 290 pounds) WITHOUT the Horns Running through Either a VERY old Leak Valve amp (great in winter) for serious voice listening and if hook every speaker set up Monitors, horns and a few radiators . Then can break windows and /or move heaps of air ![]() Mostly though an original old Sansui Amp 70/vintage with another rotel pre amp do a wonderful job on setting 1 go to 15 and you will smash the the crystal collection . Again moves heaps of air The test track for checking out cross phasing etc Or just to annoy neigbours MILES away is this best test for any speakers range or what !! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_l_8N0Jy9QU At the other end of the taste spectrum for voice is this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zdb94H But some may say his eyebrows need a bit of work also ![]() Jussi Björling sings Pearl Fishers Duet with Robert Merrill IMO a masterpiece |
