Tomorrow, 4/27/09, in order to launch it's new line of 'grilled'
chicken......KFC is giving away a free piece of chicken. There supposedly
is a specific time, so they want you to go to the website (I think it's
KFC.com) and enter your zip and they will tell you the nearest one to you
and the times they are giving it away.

I don't see any place to enter a zip. It just says "Come on in on
April 27th - No Coupon Necessary.". They usually will limit the
hours though. Especially in places like Oakland, CA ... and
Atlanta.

The small print on the recent TV ads I saw for the free grilled chicken
at KFC indicated the 'choice' (breast, wing, thigh, drumstick) of the
grilled freebies was up to the manager of the particular participating
store/restaurant/franchise. Gotta read that fine print for all the
exceptions (sigh).

Sky, who'll try to check it out tomorrow

P.S. Thanks for the reminder & heads-up, Ginny

I suppose if it's free, it'd be OK, but the chicken looks disgusting to me.
Much like the "flame grilled" chicken that Burger King and Maccas have tried
to do.

It's a recession. It's free food. Grind on.

I'm ****in' broke. I'll take anything right now.

C'mon Laddie, it's not all that bad. I can walk and work.

I'm ****in' broke but the fridge and the freezers are full.

I eat well every day.

I don't need much. I figure if I can work and eat on a daily basis, I'm
doing ok.

just saw a commercial that pollo loco (here in socal) is taking on kfc
& giving away two pieces of chicken on tuesday, so the customers can
compare the real grilled to the upstart.

They said "(*) The selection of pieces of available will be at
managers discretion" on the website as well.

That said - I passed 2 KFC's today but didn't stop. Why? Maybe if
I was there getting something else, but most people in their right
minds aren't going to stop just to get a piece of chicken. Not in
Rush Hour, and not any other time.

In my opinion, El Pollo Loco is one of the finest fast-food chains in
existence. The closest one to me is about 35 miles away, though, so I
haven't been to one for a very long time.

Never tried El Pollo Loco, but I would like to.

My favorite, is a chain of Cuban restaurants in Florida called Pollo
Tropical. The best grilled chicken, black beans, yucca w/garlic sauce,
fried plantains. When the plane lands in Florida, I rent a car and this
is the first place I stop.
