Out of principle, I always insult anyone who posts a recipe with "margarine" in the ingredients. To do so is either ignorant or sloppy, or just plain lazy. I don't expect you to think it's right that I do so, but that's the answer to your question. If a person suggested that folks should take up smoking cigarettes, I'd be even nastier. Considering that hydrogenated margarines are still on the market--and obviously many folks are too ignorant or sloppy, or just plain lazy, to avoid that stuff like the toxin it is, perhaps I do a public service. I am speaking of being polite--esp. to someone who is a non-native speaker. For the record, I detest margarine and shortening, but I don't find it necessary to denigrate those who use such ingredients. -- Jean B. |
