Default Shrimpmoto (Clamato's Sister)

[Posted to the wrong group first time around]

Ok, so it was called Shrimp Clamato. When did this come and go? I
saw one lone bottle that must have just been picked up from behind
the shelves as it expired last month. Next to it were some
Shrimpmoto clones from Mexico, but I passed this time around.

Beefmato is still around - I still see that on the shelves at
specialty stores. But none of these appear on their website.
They do advertise an extra spicy version (aside from their Picante
version), and I see something called "Clamato The Works" and an
alcoholic Caesar version in glass bottles. The later two are
probably only marketed in Canada.

I drink Virgin Ceasars all the time. I even have sriracha and
Lee & Perrins at work to make them there. But lately I've resorted
to using the Clamato clones. Kerns, Sonrisa, Sun Valley, HEB, and a
handful of others all make pretty good Clamato clones. Sorry, Motts
- but they're half the price.

I even use Clamato in my ceviche.

Right now I'm drinking a Kerns Clam and Tomato Cocktail Picante with
extra sriacha, celery powder, and Amazon habanero sauce. And, damn,
this shit is good!

I don't understand why people don't like these Clam and Tomato
drinks. Everybody at my last 3 jobs (15 years) shivered when they
saw me drinking Clamato. Turns out most never even tried it.

And that really ****es me off: People who criticize your tastes who
have never even tried it.

What's so disgusting about it? It's like a tomato broth.

I really miss V8 Clam. Haven't seen it for many years. It made a great
Bloody Mary. V8, clam juice and sweetener is a poor substitute.
