Who doesn't love nachos grandé?

It's been years, iirc! Got hijacked by a few birdbrains into town tonight.

Nothing like seeing a bunch of ornithologists and birdwatchers with pool
cues, hunting and pecking at a mountain of nachos grandé, with bottomless
mugs of beer.

I don't think we went unnoticed.

See ya!

That's what I thought too. There's a restaurant here (Hacienda) that
has beef nachos that have no process cheese food product, but instead
real cheddar. Their salsas are quite nice too. I can see why Andy
would have enjoyed partying with the birders, and I hope that the food
was good.

Good thing I wasn't drinking when I read that!

Thanks for the laugh.

Hope you had fun. :-)

I actually _like_ Taco Bell food, but their cheap crispy tacos are still
my favorite.

Om!!!

LOL!

You don't play pool at a taco bell do you?

That was from zxcvbob's post poking fun at me.

The nachos grandé were the real McCoy! At the end you about needed a hammer
to break it up. :9

Yes, it was lots of fun! We had fun with my iPhone's "Bird Explorer+"
program playing bird calls to guess at. Folks peeked in at us curiously.

Best,

Andy

Mornin' sf!

I was held against my will!

NOT!!!

It was great to see the crew. For the first time ever we didn't conduct a
spring hawk migration count (south ---> north). We needed to blow off some
steam!

Wasn't MY idea, but a fun one!!!

I hate to say this, but Taco Bell is the second best Mexican restaurant
in town. The #1 rate best is Herberts.

Om,

There's not one single authentic Mexican restaurant in town. And believe
you me, I've pondered many of the conspiracy theories overheard on the
street!... "We have no Mexicans," "We have Taco Bell," "Starbucks won't
allow it." etc., etc.

There was a Chili's (the Olive Garden of Mexican cuisine) near the ACME
that served fork & knife sized burritos that were OK but one day I noticed
not only had it burned down but the lot was plowed clear of debris and
fenced in. They don't even do that for abandoned gas stations!!!

There is a Taco Bell "across the border" of my town. There's just something
about dehydrated Mexican crap fast food that turns my stomach.

Well, you can always cook your own. It's not like it's hard to get
recipes from google. :-)

Yeah - I'm sure the management called the cops on you for drinking
beer on their property.

So why didn't you answer Bob's question? Did you just make all this
up in an attempt to make us think you have "friends"?

If it was plowed clear, how could you tell it burned down?

I would hardly consider Chili's to be a Mexican restaurant.

Are you thinking of Chi Chi's? They are long gone but their buffet made
for a decent, quick, lunch.

I think that would be for Nachos BELLgrande.

But I thought that for a moment, too.

dk,

Ya know, now I can't say for sure.

I think it was Chilis from the logo. I checked Chi-Chis on wikipedia that
claims the restaurants went out of business in 2004.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chi-Chi%27s I just can't recall the last time
I ate there. Maybe it was Chi Chi's. Perhaps they were conducting
"insurance fires?" The way it was cleaned up so fast?

Out of uncertainty, I did check the Chilis online menu and there was no
sign of burritos.

Next chance I get, I'll ask the ACME market folks who were just a few
uphill stair steps away. Certainly they watched it crash and burn!

Best,

Andy

Chi Chi's still sells their retail salsa.

Ironically, we had a chili's burn down as well (Stassay and I35).
They rebuilt it in about a month. Even though there's a couple
others within a few miles, and plenty of other better restaurants in
the area.

Me. I prefer nachos with cheese and jalapeno. Salsa
on the side for dipping--don't put it on the top of the
nachos and make them all soggy.

Cindy,

That'll do! :9

A tad sparse maybe but that'll do.
