Sounds lovely! I'm not a mother (some here might disagree with that heheh).
But I miss my mother very much. When my brother was here to get the
furniture he and my other brother wanted I cleaned out a dresser and
discovered she'd saved years worth of Mother's Day cards I'd sent to her.
She was a very sweet woman and I miss her every day. Happy Mother's Day to
all of you!

Oh Jill, hugs!!!

I miss my mom so much too and wish she was here to get some flowers for
at the very least!

I bought my sister her favorite chocolates. Whitmans samplers.

At the very least, I can share Mothers Day with her since I've never had
kids! I just get to borrow hers from time to time. <g>

The weeks prior to Mother's Day are hell, what with all the
advertising on what to buy for your mother and how to celebrate the
day with her.

I'd probably make my mom some Spanish rice. She loved it. Her mother
made it for Mom's birthday dinners. She used rice, some kinda tomato
product, onions, green peppers, and BACON.

Then we'd break out the croquet set, even though it's only 46 degrees
today. Mom always used the yellow mallet and ball. We called her,
"The Yellow Streak." (smile)

First year is full of times to remember that your loved one is not
there. We planted my uncle last week, and I went to visit my Dad's
grave the next day. (Tradition is that it's a lack of respect to the
newly dead to visit others during the current funeral). 19 years and
I still start to cry, but it's not as gut-wrenching now.

Group hug for everyone who doesn't have a mother to celebrate with
this Mother's Day.

Thanks sweetie! I needed it. Hugs back!
I'm working a 12 hour shift tonight to run away from the pain...

I can attest to the fact, after nearly 40 years, that you
will never completely get over missing your parents if you
had a decent relationship, but it does get easier as the
years go by.

Dear Daughter invited us for dinner along with Dear Son and
3 months pregnant daughter-in-law. We had a very nice
visit. Her menu was hors d'oeuvres, roast beef tenderloin,
tiny oven browned potatoes, artichokes, spinach salad, stir
fried snap peas with her version of Peach Melba for dessert.
Homemade cake with chopped fresh peaches and raspberry
coulis. It was all yummy.

Jill, she'll be in your heart - and your life - forever. My dad's been gone
for 12 years now, and though I miss him, I still feel his presence in my
life.

Best to you,
TammyM
