Default First breakfast in the new diggs.

We are in the middle of moving from our 5th wheel trailer into a cute
little house I've nicknamed "The Cottage" because it's so small.

This morning was the first meal, or shall I say food I've prepared in
the cottage.
Can't believe I have counter space and don't have to put the cutting
board over the sink to prep the food.
http://i39.tinypic.com/1hv8z6.jpg

Didn't have much to choose from so I made scrambled eggs with some
leftover refried beans from the take out the night before.
http://i39.tinypic.com/mbhaua.jpg

Plain ol' scrambled eggs never tasted so good. I am going to have to
get used to an electric stove though.

koko doing the happy dance.

Any chance of moving the fridge to the other end of the cabinets and
installing counter/cabinet in the now empty space to the right of the
range? You'll get a lot of use out of the island counter space too.

I can't believe you've been in a 5th wheel all this time and have
managed to do all the amazing cooking you do in such a space?! You have
patience and talent, girlfriend!!

That is less than ideal, but better than living in a 5th wheel.

That's a great idea, I'll have to look into that once my bank account
starts recuperating. The danged satellite internet people charged
$300.00 for a re install.

I love it and the cupboard under it is full already.

I suppose we could chase each other around naked. We discussed it but
decided to grill steaks instead. ;-)

We lived in it for 10 years. We would probably still be in it if Stan
could get around a little better.
I am thrilled with The Cottage and the extra space though. Glad we
made the move.

Koko... how long have you been without a proper home? I wasn't aware!

Laugh! As I read this line, hubby just came in laughing to say he had
to stop himself from prewarming a burner (we're getting used to gas).

Congratulations on the new home! I'm sure you'll figure out how to
get more counter space. IKEA is your friend! My son's kitchen is the
size of a postage stamp but he figured out how to hang pots & pans (by
copying my pot hanger) AND give himself a 6 ft. long butcher block
counter with storage under, thanks to IKEA.

Dancing right there, with ya! You must be in heaven, with all the
newfound space. Here's hoping you have many happy years at The
Cottage.

I've always had a proper home, just one that I could take along with
me.
We sold our house 10 years ago and bought the 5th wheel and truck.

Oh, yes. IKEA has been hit up several times. We got a loveseat hide a
bed and a cabinet to put the t.v. on and store the dishes in. We have
several other items to get from them yet.
Assembly is always fun.

We're all here now, but we're not moved in yet. We have a cleaning
lady now (a friend) who is getting things organized for us. At this
moment, she is sanitizing the kitchen cupboards so I will have
somewhere to put things when I get to the point of unloading kitchen
boxes. We're working with the bare essentials right now.

We're very happy here. I hope you'll be at least as happy at your new
place.

Thanks Debbie. Yes, we are keeping the 5th wheel but don't know how
much traveling we'll be able to do.

But bigger than the trailer!!

It'll look great after you get settled in. A couple of green bottles with
those water plant thingies in on top of the cupboards would look good :-)

Love the sunshine bars on the board......... and that ceramic knife ;-)

The eggs look good. (I won't mention the beans though ;-)

Looks like we have the same (kitchen) floor tiles too :-)

During summer I usually cook in bare feet...... and several times I've
been 'rushing' to get something out of the pantry and knocked a jar of
something or other out and onto the floor. So I have to stand still while
the SO gets the dustpan and brush and searches for glass shards.

That's a thought. I'm not sure what I want to do yet. As long is it
doesn't involve dusting I'm game.

The kitchen is so beautiful in the morning. That's one of my favorite
knives.

I know, somehow refried beans just never make an appetizing
photograph.

Nice bright little space.

They're ok. I've had one for the last 9 years, and finally got used
to it<G>. Now if the darned furnace would break down (or the gov'm'nt
would give me a nice chunk of change for replacing it), I'd get the
gas line installed from the street and splurge on a new gas cooktop.

When we moved from our fifth wheel (we lived on the road for 9 years)
into our house, we were astounded by how much stuff we had in the
trailer and truck.

> I am going to have to get used to an electric stove though.

I'm still getting used to it after 4 years. I wasn't too thrilled with
the propane stove in the RVs either. I really miss natural gas. The
thing I learned about the electric stove is to turn it off BEFORE the
food is done. The retained heat will continue to cook it.

Why not BOTH.

Hmmmm I not sure which should be first? Or last for that matter.

I had wonderful kitchens in my two fifth wheels. The last one was a
horseshoe-shaped one that I worked with the factory to customize for me.
My first fifth wheel even had a dishwasher! After using it to mostly
cart around big bags of chips, I opted to not get one in the second rig.

This page on my old and not updated in many years web site has a picture
of my kitchen.

You have to be kidding. We have Dish Network and I called and asked them
to do a "moving package" They installed the dish and hooked up the
receivers for free. I'd call them if I were you and explain that this is
not a new account, but a "move"

Koko congratulations on your Cottage! I know of what you speak- we
bought a converted Trailways bus and sold our house. We were not as
hearty as you and decided after 1 1/2yrs that we needed a slightly
larger place and a home base. Now we live in a "Park Model" which is a
500sq ft trailer.
We have several friends that have been "full timing" for many years.

I am always amazed at the great things that come out of your kitchen and
love your pictures.

It wasn't my satellite t.v. which was free. It is my Hughes satellite
internet.
I got both satellites moved within days. A purchase from IKEA and one
from Jerome's furniture delivered the next day.
Why can't AT&T that only needs to flip a switch to transfer my land
line phone not be able to do it until the 18th, and I called them 2
weeks ago. Thank God for cell phones.

Thank you maxine.
I dont' mind the electric stove all that much. I had one in our home
in Yuma so it's not all that strange to me now.
