Perhaps today it is made in Texas, but circa 1973 it was definitely made in Camden. The whole town smelled like tomatoes in the fall processing season. Huge numbers of New Jersey (The Garden State!) farms fed tomatoes into the Campbells soup/tomato products factory pipeline. Even today, I think the very best tomatoes come from the sandy soil and hot humid summers of rural New Jersey. -- Silvar Beitel (Collingswood, NJ resident 1973-74) |

Sadly it only lasted two annuals long. The Jersey "Fresh" tomatoes I've often spoke of are absolute champions!!! I eat them like apples!!! Can't wait!!! :9 Best, Andy -- Eat first, talk later. |

I can't say for certain what Utah's contribution to cuisine has been, other than dutch oven cooking. Back home, though: Leroy, NY is the birthplace of Jello (coincidentally, Utah is the primary consumer of the product in the US); Hilton, NY was the site of the Heinz Company's cider vinegar bottling concern (many of the orchards, storage buildings and processing buildings still stand); Rochester, NY is the home of the Zweigle's sausage business and it's notorious White Hots; Dunkirk Ice Cream, a large manufacturer of ice cream products for several brand names, is in Dunkirk, NY (I once worked in that plant. Ugh). Buffalo, NY has the Anchor Bar and it's chicken wings. Of course, in WNY and the Genesee Valley there is beer, beer, beer. New York, NY has seen the birth of several home-grown comestibles, too many to name. |

You're forgetting Rolling Rock. The ****water of beers originally from PA, now brewed in New Jersey! Boy, are their days numbered!!! LOL! I really didn't want to mention them but after mentioning Bud Light, no harm done! ![]() Yuengling has a terrible aftertaste! We used to have Friday 5 pm meetings in the library that was nothing more than a beer fest. I protested at having to drink Yuengling. Boss asked me "what do you drink?" I replied "Bud Light."
