Premium export eye fillet.

Retails at $34.99kg.

I picked up a total of 13.18kgs (29.05lbs) for $190.06.

Total value of the lot would have been $461.15

I've got Waygu sausages, waygu mince, waygu roasts, boneless pork leg roasts,
pork sausages.... and I bought 5 of the chickens for my mate who couldn't get
there.

My eye fillets weighed in at 2.636, 2.636, 2.536, 2.796, and 2.576kgs.

You pay for the two most expensive fillets, and the other 3 are free :-)

Although a decent beef
please consider the following

* All Kobe beef is Wagyu, but not all Wagyu beef is Kobe beef.

* All Wagyu beef is not created equal €¦ if youre looking for is
best-quality Wagyu, you should expect to pay $100 or more per pound.
Wagyu for $30.00 per pound? Its just not the same.

You may already be familiar with the famed Japanese Kobe beef €” the most
expensive beef in the world. Wagyu is the same breed stock that yields
Kobe beef. However, to earn the appellation of Kobe beef, the cattle
must be raised in Japans Hyogo Prefecture and its production must
conform to standards imposed within that region.

Because of the scarcity and expense of open land and the high price of
grain in Japan, Wagyu cattle have been raised successfully in Australia
and the U.S. to meet the growing demand for this pricey delicacy.

In Japan, Kobe beef sells at more than $300 per pound. Lobel's American
Wagyu, while still more expensive than USDA prime, costs a bit more than
$100 per pound. In terms of quality, taste and texture, Wagyu and Kobe
beef are indistinguishable.

Being a bit Pedantic only as we produce Wagyu Beef here

And is a Regular on our plates < huge grin> since we grow it

FreezerS.

1 Chest, 1 botton of the fridge, 1 top of the fridge.

And I use the outside beer fridge to cool the meat down prior to packing
and freezing.

I really need to cut down on my fridges!!

It's the case of.......... if you've got the spare room, you'll find
something to fill it with!!

I spent the afternoon slicing eye fillets and packaging.

Come dinner time, the SO says "Eye Fillet, YUM!!".... my thought was ...
"F****** steak, that I've been freezing my ass off for and slicing for the
last 65 f****** minutes.........BFD!!!"

I would have gladly rang for a pizza at that stage!!

(Something tells me I was never meant to be a butcher!!)

It's not 'Kobe' per se (as in *coming* from Japan), but the cows it came from
are genetic 'family' to the Kobe cows...... just living in Oz.

Not much difference though..........

We will, and I'll be taking pics of the Waygu roast. Not going to do it in
the Weber, or even in my electric oven.

Will take it to a friends place with a ewe-beaut brand new gas monstrosity.
