*Eh!* Bill Griffith seems to be getting lazy, his meaninglessness used
to be a lot more esoterically, surrealistically entertaining.

Even Homer Simpson thinks Zippy is getting 'preachy'.

And apparently Zippy's not living at the top of the Trans-America
pyramid anymore. Kinda looks like he moved to east Oakland.

Just FYI the "room" was in a place, a fast food restaurant, a room in
which to order fried chicken, a "Church's Fried Chicken" place where i &
my friend were the only 2 white people in the room.

My caucasian friend, who asked me what i wanted to eat, still cringes
when i recall the anecdote to him

The comics when downhill after Calvin stopped. I still read some of the old
stuff like BC ,Hagar, Shoe, Rhymes With Orange, but any of the new ones just
don't seem either funny or to have a purpose.

I've never much been green when it comes to paper or plastic but after
"Living with Ed" I'm kinda/sorta torn. On the one side I'd like paper bags
but the experience of baby cockroaches living inside them I'm still in
favor of plastic.

Many people don't "get" Zippy. They're better
off with Peanuts or Dilbert or other strips
that spell everything out for you.

I haven't read Peanuts since Charles Schulz died. But it's a classic strip;
as the complete Peanuts collection books get released, I buy them. (I've
also got the complete collection of The Far Side and Calvin & Hobbes.)

the new yorker cartoons are mostly not good. some wag said you could
replace every caption with 'christ, what an asshole,' and chances are they
would be better.

zippy is more a smile than a laugh. at the very least, it's well-drawn.
