Default Dinner tonight.... 10Jun

Will be chicken breasts done in a white wine and mustard sauce, served with
some roasted potato chunks, and maybe some maple glazed butternut pumpkin.

I made a stir-fry with tofu, veggies, and a lovely brown sauce of soy
sauce, kecap manis, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and garlic. It was delicious.

That sounds interesting. I don't think I have ever combined soy
sauce with kecap manis, but that would give you more control over
the salty-sweet balance.

Didn't have the pumpkin, which was probably a good thing....

The rating????

I was asked if there were (raw) chicken breasts left over, and how much
cream and white wine we had.

I was then 'informed' that we would be having the same tomorrow night for
dinner.

Seems my white wine, seeded mustard, and chilli sauce was a *huge* hit!!

Not to mention the moist and tender chicken boobs.

Oh well......... all I have to do is come up with a 'different' vege
side!!

Sounds good! I have to work a 12 hour shift this weekend and a 16 hour
next weekend, so won't be cooking anything fancy for at least a couple
of weeks. I do most of that kind of thing on weekends and keep it
simple during the week.

Heh. No. No meat. We only eat meat at dinner a couple times a week. I
was a vegetarian for 20 years, and it's still my default position.

Serene, currently making onion-and-goat-cheese tarts

This was beyond simple. The only thing I even had to do besides stir the
stuff was to slice onions and celery. (The other veggie was shiitake
mushrooms, but I buy them sliced already, so I only had to let them sit
a while in hot water.)

Hang in there. That's a lot of hours -- hope you get lots of overtime pay!

Yes, most of it is overtime. I need the money which is why I
volunteered. <g>

I'll be tired but will love the paycheck.
