I'm ignoring you, just as you requested I do with advice from usenet.

If you wish to remain ignorant, so be it.

Here is a tiny link for your tiny mind:

Many people have no clu' about MODERN Chiropractic care.
A lot has changed in recent years... Including regulations.

Thanks for admitting that I did not ask for advice, so you were absolutely
wrong on that count. As to the 'very personal medical information', there
was nothing exceptionally personal about it; certainly nothing that affects
me negatively in any way. As to my wife's name.. hell, I've mentioned my
wife's name many times on RFC over the last dozen or so years. Many others
have also mentioned names of spouses or significant others. You are really
stretching to try and come up with something to dump on me about, aren't
you? As to the phone number, let's just say that that is hardly a problem.
My wife uses a pay-as-you-go throw away phone. If Sheldon turned out to be a
stalker (gee, it sounds like you think Sheldon might be a serial killer or
something. If you have a problem with Sheldon talk with him. I have no
problem with him) it's as easy as pop-tarts to get a new phone and number.
Now, try to quit throwing straw men around. If you want to call names and
dump on me, just do it. Don't try to drag in lame-ass issues to provide a
crutch.

> That wasn't my advice. My advice was to go to Jack-in-the-Box.

And that doesn't change the nature of my reply one little bit, does it?

> A full grown man should really know better than to post forever

A full grown man doesn't need permission from someone like yourself about
what or what not to post. Which is why what you post is meaningless as a
source of advice. And, as an aside, there was no REAL personal information
posted. There is far more of what one would call 'personal information'
about me from business section news articles that have made there way to the
web.

Things are working well for me. I'm not so sure about you, though.

Dave, please, you know better... anything one posts to usenet is tacitly a
request for comment of all nature. Even if you sent your surgery message by
email to a select few you'd still recieve comments of all types, probably
more so than you got from the spineless ones (pardon the pun) who are too
ascared to say in a pubic arena what they're really thinking.

I hope your surgery is a success (you won't know for at least a year), but
anyone who posts about contemplating back surgery I will still tell to get
other opinions. Good luck.

doubtful. and i would take with a grain of salt any facts provided by a
site ran by chiropractors.

if the stuff they did was sound, they wouldn't be scorned by conventional
medicine. i bet you like homeopathic doctors also. more persecuted
geniuses!

Who says they are scorned by conventional medicine?

There is a wide acceptance of them around here. Even my Ortho' surgeon
that I consulted recommended this particular clinic. Dr. Stamps has a
wide reputation around here and almost more business than he can handle
because he's so good.

You need to update your opinion and information.
And if you'd bothered to follow that link I provided, you'd see his site
offers a reference for the information posted there.

Chiropractic has come a LONG way in recent years! If I am hurting when
I go there, I'm not when I leave. My structural issues are simply going
to take time to resolve but I won't have to resort to surgery which does
not work well with my problems.

I have the original and one year x-rays on disk now thanks to Russ
yesterday. I need to shrink the pics first for posting as they are a
couple of megs each in size... The comparison is not drastic, but there
is some change and improvement, and I don't hurt nearly as much as I did
a year ago...

From what I hear, they've gone mainstream. They aren't the quacks
selling vitamins that I remember my grandparents going to.

My HMO has approved chiropractors, acupuncturists and podiatrists
now... not necessarily "on staff", we co-pay at their office and get
the service.

Problem is that they don't know their own limitations.

If you consult with one (or any of them, from my recollection) you get
a treatment of bone cracking that can last for months -and that's
several times a week. I always noticed that after the first week or
so, benefits started to decrease rapidly.

And if you're in an auto accident - expect to be given the fully monty
as to chiropractic care - they love insurance claims -and you'll get
every test he/she can throw at you and months of treatmemts no matter
what your condition is.

Veterans and some health care plans will cover them but only on a very
limited basis.

I personally would only use for very short-term treatments. I doubt
if getting your joints/bones cracked/adjusted three times a weeks for
three months can be very beneficial.

I know people with chronic back problems who go to their chiropractor
once a month. It seems to help. Hubby had a bad back problem one
time and a friend offered a coupon that basically covered one visit.
When he got there he found out that our HMO covered it and all he
needed to do was co-pay - so he gave our friend the coupon back. He
says he felt much better after the "treatment", but you're right -
they do hound you for return visits. I think that's the primary
reason why I wouldn't go to one. I don't want to be hounded, even if
it only costs me $10 a visit.
