No, it's just that sometimes cooking even the simplest things can involve a lot of tedium, and as you get older you realize this... There are times when even the thought of slapping a sandwich together makes me tired... I used to laff at peeps that bought stuff at the grocery store salad bar and prepared items at the deli, etc, but not anymore... I am known for my tater salad, I make tons of it for cookouts and such, but after awhiles the whole jazz of spending half a day making it gets pretty "ripe". Several times I've bought it in bulk and simply goosed it up with some stuff, many cannot tell the diff, really. When you cost out the ingredients and the labor it works out cheaper, too... -- Best Greg |

That's way too much trouble for someone in a hurry! Crackers and cottage cheese works for me when there isn't "any time" - which translates to I'm too tired to cook (party of one). If there isn't "any time" and I really am hungry, I can grab a bite somewhere on the run. I'm not diabetic or even pre-diabetic, so eating is way down on my "to do" list. I can understand the eating problem though, because I'm married to a long time pre-diabetic who makes shopping a living nightmare for me. We get to our destination and the next thing I know he's talking about eating. I absolutely hate it! I went there to do specific shopping... not stroll around, window shop and *eat*. I want to buy what I went for and get out of there ASAP. -- I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food. |
