Default Lobster Score @ Acme

DH saw lobsters advertised for $5/lb at Acme for 3 days, so we braved
nasty thunderstorms and scored 6 of them. 2 went to our son in law for
Fathers day. We cooked all 4 of ours lastnight and had a minor feast
on 2 of them. They weren't quite as succulent as the ones our
daughter sent for Christmas directly from Maine, but very good. The
other 2 will be for tomorrow night as we are going out to eat with the
kids and grandsons today.
The sale lasts thru today, dunno if all Acmes had it or not.

Thanks! Didn't notice it, I have the circular right here. If they have
any 1 1/4 pounders I'll grab a couple.

I hope you're saving the shells for stock.

Good score by the way.

Yes Michael, they were alive, and got more lively when I covered them
with ice packs around newspaper. That was how the ones I got from
Maine were packed, figured they knew what they were doing.
I hope we continue to see lower prices on red bugs. They are my
favorite food, closely followed by crab of any kind.
We had 2#+ lobsters in Digby Nova Scotia many years ago and they were
bar none the best ever, and couldn't finish them. Kept them packed in
ice til we got back to DE, and they were still the best ever.

Rats, missed this post. I'll have to check on the way home and see if they
still have some.

I ate up the last of the crab we got at Acme a few weeks ago, They had
frozen King Crab legs, Dungeness and Snow Crab clusters on sale. I bought
about 4 pounds of each and finished off the last Snow crab last night (with
the help of a few friends).

Made a 'crab boil' with mussels and crab clusters in the bottom of the
steamer and potatoes, sweet corn and broccoli in the top of the steamer. I
think next time I'll steam the broccoli separately.

<lol> I always cook broccoli by itself. Short cooking time! It's way
too easy to turn to mush.
