Coca Cola's new 2-quart plastic bottles!
The new bottles are shaped like overgrown coke bottles of old rather than the straight shaped cylinder. A problem I encountered with the new one is that it's taller and won't fit on any fridge shelves that I arranged to my liking ages ago. The quickest fix was to adjust a door shelf were it fits very nicely. So the problem actually backfired into a better solution, freeing up more shelf space. At first I was mad, now I'm glad. ![]() Andy |

The door shelves housed all the many bottles of condiments, dressings, etc., which I did have to re-shoehorn around, throwing out some really ancient stuff in the process to make room. Only wish I'd thought of it sooner. :-/ Andy |

How are things going over in rec.scuba? I look at the newsgroup sometimes, but it is always a fight between Scott and Greg. Becca ObFood: Chiles Rellenos 12 poblano chiles 1/2 lb chihuahua cheese, asadero or monterey jack 1/2 cup water 1/4 cup vegetable oil 1 tablespoon olive oil 3 eggs, whites and yolks separated flour, as much as needed 5 medium tomatoes 1 onion, cut in thin slices 1 garlic clove 1 teaspoon dried oregano 1 tablespoon sugar salt and pepper to taste Roast the chiles on an open flame, when skin becomes charred, put them in a plastic bag for about 10 minutes. Peel chiles, cut a slit in one side and deseed them. Cut the cheese into strips, and stuff the chiles with cheese. Close slit with a toothpick. Beat the egg whites until stiff and stir in the yolks. Heat the oil in a non-stick pan. Coat the chiles with flour and then dip them in the egg batter. Fry in hot oil until batter is golden. Place chiles in a serving dish. Sauce: Boil tomatoes in 1/2 cup water. Blend tomatoes, water and the clove of garlic in a food processor to make a sauce. Strain sauce. In a saucepan, heat olive oil and fry onions until soft. Add oregano, tomato sauce and sugar. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes. Pour sauce over chiles and serve. |

It's pretty hard to find naturally occurring, perfectly good water nowadays. Even mountain spring water can have contaminants that need to be treated. Secondly, water isn't the least of our worries. Look at the purity of the five food groups. The entire food supply is a bunch of crap, more or less, imho. Best, Andy -- "I only know what I read, not what I'm talking about!" --Andy |
