How to find out what's on sale where?

Is there a website where we can find out which grocery store has what
items on sale? Ideally it would be user generated, so anyone could
post what they see on sale at the local store.

This would probably be a cooler service if the grocery store
themselves made this information available on there website. I could
see Wal-Mart integrating their barcode scanners with the website. So
soon as they scan a new pricing for an item it would show up online on
the website. I don't see this is technically challenging to do, so not
sure why it has not been done before.

Every major chain has web sites that have all the weekly specials.

It would be a nightmare to police for compartative shopping. I don't care
what is on sale today, I do have interest on what will be on sale when I
shop next. Some stores start the sale on Sunday, others on Friday, others at
other times. Aside from scanning the circulars in the paper, the major
store habe their sales on thier web sites.

Stores could also have every time they have listed on the web site too. That
would be like giving your price list tot he competition. Make them work for
it if they want them.

There are a dozen sites that reprint all the weekly circulars in
every region. It's The Web.

This website lists department stores, supermarkets, pharmacies, home
improvement stores, etc. Click on the store to find their circular.

User generated would be silly since not everyone likes the same things or
shops at the same stores. I'd be willing to bet my stores are nowhere near
you so why would I care what you could buy on sale?

Any grocery store worth their salt has a web site that lists their weekly
sales circulars. You can even print coupons if they are required. Ditto
drug stores, KMart, Wal*Mart, Target... it's not rocket science.

Some stores also have email lists you can sign up for to have their ads sent
to you directly.

Yep. I buy a lot of stuff at Walgreen's and I get their weekly sale
circular sent to me via email.

I know some people live on their computers but this seems so
unnecessary in the real world. If you have mail or a newspaper
delivered you cannot escape the flyers/ads from all the local
stores. -aem

You should read my local paper, then you'd know why I stopped subscribing to
it. When the Governor of South Carolina went missing for four or five days,
the big headline was Flip Flops are BAD for your feet. It's a good reason
not to get the local newspaper.

I can find my grocery store sales fliers and coupons online.
