Default Blue Mountain coffee

Is there anyplace on the Net that I can get Blue Mountain without
giving up my firstborn child?

TIA

Not that I've found. I whimp'd out over the prices, too.

It's probably Jamaica's proudest product, not counting the Jamaican bobsled
team. :-)

t will definitely make delicious cups of coffee!

If it was sold to retail stores in the USA, it would probably cost twice
Jamaica's asking price and demand could deplete their crop in no time flat!
"Hello Jamaica? This is McDonalds calling. We'd like to buy your Blue
Mountains."

Good luck,

Andy

Just thought I'd ask. I want it but not so bad that I will go down
there to get it. I don't need it. Maxwell House keeps me alive and
that is all I am really after.

As in Kona Coffee origins and names...,caveat emptor---- Jamaican Blue
Mountain has similar twists. Some is good and real and some is not,
so be informed. IIRC all the coffee produced in Jamaica is processed
through the Jamaica Blue Mountain Board. So if you want very good
Jamaican Blue Mountain, and it can be excellent, you need to order
from well known and appreciated Estates such as (and not limited to)
Mavis Banks--! jeepers the others escape my mind!. Sorry.

But if you are paying a lot of money, I would recommend you do the
research and be sure you are buying genuine, high quality, fresh
roasted excellent Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee.

It's so odd in the coffee world, it seems to me, that unscrupulous
merchants, wanting to make more almighty dollars, would want to trick
another human. I just don't get it and I don't think I am naive.

Oh well, Just my $.02.

Cea

thats very true. i remember in the 1980's getting hooked on blue mountain
Jamaican. then it wasn't nearly as pricey as it is now. then the imposters
starting showing up. for anyone that hasn't had Jamaican blue mountain, it's
very good if you get the real thing., but its gotta be the real thing, not
some bullshit trying to pass as real. same can be said for Kona. it's gotta
be real.

I used to drink 100# Kona, until my wallet could not afford it
anymore. Switched to Sumatran, and now I actually like Sumatran better
than Kona!

You won;t find it cheaper unless it is fake. I find their product to be
very good and authentic. That stuff used to be 35 bucks for 8 ounces way
back when.

Well, Cea, I can vouch for Kona. The kids bought my husband 5lbs of
your very own wonderful coffee for Father's Day. It took the kids
awhile to get the hint when I suggested it to them, but yum yum!

Thanks. I may try it again. We loved Blue Mountain when we were in
Jamaica ~35 years ago but every time we have bought it since (including
the many packages we brought back with us) it has been terribly
disappointing (and not at all reasonably priced!)

Well everyone needs to, yes. But life is too sort to deny oneself the
occasional exotic pleasure. In your case though I suggest you just forget
about Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee. You'd probably be much better off with
Seattle's Best, Peet's or the Ngorngoro blend from that link. You will
never forgive yourself the money you spent and I for one don't need that
kind of bad karma.

Reasonable is relative. JBM used to be unattainable outside Jamaica because
the Japanese bought the entire production every year and they did not share
it. I've had the best JBM you can buy in the states and I must admit it is
not so special I would buy it more than once per year. Those lucky enough
to have drank it fresh from the source and freshly roasted tell me it is a
whole different world. I have never found green JBM beans.

Well Paul, there are lots of pretty good coffees. Peet's is simply a
store and imho, they over roast their coffee*$ is the same- no matter
the origin. Same for Seattle's Best- they buy green beans from
(foreign countries for the most part) farmers and then roast them- .

For example that (hopefully Mavis Banks, or one of the excellent
ESTATE Jamaican Blue Mountains) that $35 per pound , if you made it at
home and I do not know the postage costs would cost you, per cup...97
cents. How much does *$ cost for one of their milk filled drinks?

And as another example, if you bought our coffee- WITH postage, it
would cost you, 73 cents per cup.

Come on, make it at home and you will really have excellent coffee,
but you gotta do the math.

You're telling me this? Hey I have never bought one of those 5 dollar
Charbucks mostly milk drinks. And yeah, people will plop down a fiver for a
cup of their mud and balk at a whole pound of some of the best coffee you
can buy.

People are just strange. Oh and Peet's coffee is worthy of more mention
that you gave it. It's really quite good coffee IMO.

good stuff!

I obviously don't get a broad as often as I used to.
