Look...it's all good and nice for you to say you want to work at home,
hell...most people would. But this is a cooking newsgroup dearie and
the first thing you have to realize is that when you post here for the
first time, you'd better have a recipe for a Sloppy Joe!! BTW...you
sound pretty...got any pics??

If it's multi-level marketing, don't try to recruit here.
This is the only warning you will get.

Just repost my macaroni salad, Cass. He won't know the difference.
And for God's sake, do yourself a favor and don't send him your
picture until you find out what he plans to do with it.

That seems to be the new thing, "I'll say 'hi' now, and be back to spam
you later!"

I have been taking that as a sign to do preemptive plonking.

My header says this is the only one. Do you have another way of

Just look at her profile - she posted the same message to lots of
groups. The poor sucker probably paid hundreds to someone who advised
her to do this as a 'work from home' scheme.

Yeah, she spammed alt.obituaries. Gonna generate
a lot of business from that one.

I use Agent and their news server and I do not understand your
"profile." I understand Google does something like that but how do I
access hers if that is what you are referring to?

I hate it when I do not understand responses to my queries ...
hahaheheh

Really, fill me in. How do I get at it?

OMG! You gotta be kiddin', right?
And I welcomed her open-armed. Kick me in the head, will ya? I could

Blahblah. Get-rich-quick-online and MLM'ers all get advice to ingratiate
themselves with their targets before delivering the sales pitch. **** off.

Perhaps your time would be better spent getting that cast iron thing
into gear <grin> However, just do a google on her name
or go to google groups and do a search . Why any one would waste
heartbeats doing that is beyond me though .

Well if she is in any doubt after that -although I doubt the spammer
would read such a response . Perhaps another career choice is starting
to emerge for her

Look up the meaning of "multi-posting". Similar to cross-posting but rather
than send out to all groups with one post, the poster sends out multiple
posts each to a single (or more) newsgroup separately.

Agreed. This is a cooking list, not a marketing list. There are PLENTY
of .forsale and marketing lists on usenet for that kind of thing.

No prob. Found it while talking with my friend on MagicJack. Took me
a little to get the hang of the Google search but I found her targets
pretty easily.

Thanks again.

Thanks. That way it does not show up in the full header. Clever.

What you should know is that a lot of folks in this group have something
against Google and all things that are Google. Please don't ask why - if
you have to ask, you'll never be able to understand. In my case, I wish
to curry favor with the big G so that one day, I may have a position in
the New Google World Order of the future. I need a decent job!

What makes you say that? Google is an awesome web search tool. It doesn't
have a good interface for Usenet. 2 different things.

You're right, Google is an awesome web search tool - the best! I think
the reality is that Google is also the best web-based Usenet interface.
I even use it sometimes. :-)

A woman I work with left our company to go work for Google. I also hope to
have that opportunity. Search engine technology and taxonomy is my
specialty. However, the search engine I'm the company "SME" for is now part
of Microsoft. I'd take either one to work for. Though who I work for now
isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

They do seem to be expanding their influence, don't they?

Huh? What weird English? Have you been around any people under 60
lately?

Sometimes I even put it in the food.

Google is the big dog - I wouldn't mind working with that outfit either.
They could be the future of computing i.e., web based apps on handheld
devices. Good luck on your future employment. I'll put in a good word
for you when I get in. :-)

What's a "SME?"

The folks at Google are remarkably sharp. They intend to make Microsoft
OSs non-relevant in hand-held devices as well as desktop systems. The
battle for operating systems of these devices will be fierce. That's
just my guess.

Perhaps one day you, too, can work from home... but only if you're a single
mom. <wink>
