John,

I don't know about EVERY morning but I'm OK with that. Helped me reclaim some
of my what has become "Dog Shit Park" from the "Broads & Dogs" walking clubs.

You eat beans, and your incessant flatulence drives away the broads
and dogs?

I startled my cat when I farted the other day! It was funny!

Of course cats are kinda high strung anyway. ;-)

Perhaps not those dodging around John. They have reason to be nervous.

I've had many sandpaper cat licks! Sis-in-Law told me it was a sign of
affection.

At first, I thought it was a lick me before eating me to death method!

I live!

It's annoying. I don't like dogs licking me either.

That's how I feel too.

sf
personal pet warmer - my cat has a sixth sense about where I'm
sitting. My lap is a no cat zone when I'm at the computer, but he
knows when I'm sitting on the couch and wouldn't mind a cat in my lap.
Just *don't* lick me!

I love the sandpaper cat licks, but can't stand the sloppy licks of dogs.
All five of our cats will lick from time to time. Several of our cats are
"lap" cats, but they know their limits as to when and where.

(Looks over at Miss Kitty lounging eyes closed on her late morning
chair) Yep, I'd be inclined to agree. But beware when Psycho Kitty
comes to play!

Cats sleep an average of 13-18 hours a day, yano? Not all at once, but
in short little cat naps!

You are in my brain... I have a cat that typically is draped over one of
my feet, or disappears periodically during the day, but if I leave the
computer to go sit on the living room couch, he knows, and will within
minutes come to sit in the crook of my legs. He tries to act like the
"alpha" cat, but is really just a big baby :-)

The lick thing? He reserves that for about 30 minutes before breakfast,
and then will lick my hair to wake me up. I keep him on a diet to
prevent him turning into a balloon. But he knows when it's close to
breakfast or dinner time. He is also VERY annoying at times. He'll lick
any plastic bags in the vicinity to just annoy me.

Better than my daughter's cat. He jumps on my lap, gets all the
petting he wants - then bites me. Forget that, cat.

Are you guys sure it's not just love bites? My same example gives a

A girlfriend insisted her cat would hate me. I insisted she "Patches" would
love me. She was so skepital, declaring Patches was afraid of air!

I said I'm a cat god.

Not minutes after entering her home, Patches launched down the stairs and
jumped up on me!

Patches would even put up with my rolling over her in my sleep.

I've been a cat god for some time. How I became one, I dunno.

Andy - Somehow I doubt that. I've seen women scoff at what I put in
their bowl. The kitties? If I drizzle a little tuna juice over their
food, *I'm* a god :-) At least for the next ten minutes :-)

Easy does it on the tuna juice. Supposedly that's not a great part of a
cat's diet!

A TV (Animal Channel??) segment advice.

If you really feel that way then you need to move to rural Missouri:

I've heard that to, but since it is a "treat" item, they don't see it
often enough to have issues.

My sister had a dog when I was young, that would not eat anything
without a fried egg on it. I kid you not. It simply would rather go
hungry. I've been very cautious about too many good things for the
critters. Just like I have carob chips for the dog, when I want to try
to train him ( or him me I'm guessing) instead of chocolate.

But all three current critters get dry food only, unless I'm feeling
generous, and share a small piece of meat or something while I'm cooking.

I startled my cat when I farted the other day! It was funny!

Of course cats are kinda high strung anyway. ;-)

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Yeah, but, if they fart they look at you wondering what's that smell??? lol

But do they try to sleep on your face?

LOL, not yet. We do have one 23 pound alpha female who cannot be happy
unless she sleeps between the two bed pillows.

NO CATS IN THE BEDROOM!

He has finally learned not to step inside. Cats can be trained,
they're just slower to admit they have limits than dogs are.

FYI: In college, my roommate had a cat that slept on her pillow... his
name was "Buns". Why? His butt was in her face most of the time.

Eeew.

I've heard that egg for dogs is good for their coat of fur. Adds some sheen
to it, iirc. I don't know if they are susceptible to salmonella or not.
