She was a major manipulator. She took a great work atmosphere where everyone had their oars in the water at the same time and turned it dysfunctional because she played favorites. Part of the staff could do no wrong, everyone else was always wrong. She also encouraged parents to bypass teachers and go straight to her with problems, so teachers were often blindsided. She wasn't well loved by parents either, they knew she was a phony. Well, she picked the *wrong* time to pull those shenanigans because there were virtually no voluntary lateral transfers at the time, so no one left. She ended up taking a stress leave a couple of years ago. She was stressed because *she* caused the situation, but she used the opportunity to play victim with higher ups (it was a "difficult" school). We thought she'd end up being kicked upstairs, but there was a change in administration and her buddies in district office left. She's assigned to a school with a staff that has her in check for now. -- I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food. |

What's up with that?! > > May I trade your experience for aother? > Not a fair trade... your experience seemed quite pleasant and real. The Lying Ranger expressed with great disdain and snobbishness an obvious and total lie. No truthful person would have endured an entire meal at the hands of "****y" waitstaff and then waited all the way until the bitter end when presented with the bill to complain. The only people I've ever met who would behave so, and there have been pitifully few, are those who'd contrive a story of beligerent service in order to get out of paying the bill. In all my years of dining out in all sorts of places I can count on the fingers of one hand the occasions when my bill was totalled incorrectly and immediately corrected without any fanfare... and never have I been charged for something I didn't order or charged incorrectly for something. The few times the error was in manual addition, so long ago I don't remember the details, except that I wouldn't confront the waitstaff, I'd walk up to the front and bring the matter to the attention of the person at the register. Lots of people, especially these days, can't do math without a calculator, no reason to embarrass them by making a public spectacle, certainly not to what's obviously a menial employee. And I've sat at more bars than I can count, plopped down a couple three twenties and began getting polluted, never once has a bartender cheated me out of a cent even though they knew there'd soon come a time I could no longer count. Common sense should dictate that no waitstaff would purposely over charge a patron because since they have no access to the cash register they have no way of enriching themselves when the tab is paid. And nowadays most everyone pays with plastic. |

I had called him so accurately (he knew I was saying that there was NOTHING I could do to make him happy because happiness was not what he wanted, he wanted to torment me) that he flew into an immediate rage, stormed out the door, yelling at the manager on the way out "You need to teach your GIRL that the customer is always RIGHT!" He did indeed make the waiter pay the bill. I worked in a resturant once as a prep cook and while i was hired by the nice lady manager of the retrurant she told me right off i would probly be fired for no good reason. That the owner/chef who i would be working with was a bit of an eccentric, rather taken to dramatic explosions of temper over trivialities. But if i did my job well for as long as i lasted she would give me an excellant referance and help me find another job. I eventualy got fired for not closing a "BRAND NEW!" cooler door as gently as i should have ![]() It was actually a relife and i fled the premise with alacrity. A few days later when i went in to get my check he apologized and offered me my position back but by then the nice lady manager had found me a similar position in a really nice Italian resturant where, though, again, i got fired for essentialy trivial reasons i learned a lot. Chefs and resturant owners seem to me to be, by and large a crazy bunch. The last one i worked in the owner/chef had over 2 million in debt and the resturant wasnt doing that well. -- Mr. Joseph Littleshoes Esq. Domine, dirige nos. I'd compare it to Shakespeare's sonnets, in particular the sonnet about the time he was overcharged two pence for a brace of grouse. |

I don't remember Shakespeare ever making any gratuitous anti-Norwegian bigotry, though. Did I miss that? The Ranger |

Did I miss that? Norway was part of Denmark at that time, and Shakespeare most certainly had lots to say about Danes. |

No! Never! I'd be the worlds worst waitress. I've managed to work only one job where I had to work with actual customers, and that was a year at a car dealership. |
