When ya just gotta have breakfast...
I made mine two strawberry yogurts, a small bunch of grapes and a buttered slice of whole wheat toast, for good measure. You? Andy |

And I've gone back to making my own dressings exclusively, I've decided all bottled dressings are awful. Okay, we know whole wheat toast but what kind of strawberry yogurt; fruit at the bottom or blended, regular/no fat/lo fat, what size containers? And what kind of grapes; green/red/black, seeds or seedless, what? And what kind of butter, stick/whipped, salted? And why only one slice... if you used a two slice toaster you wasted energy... I don't think I've ever made just one slice of toast. And what kind of toaster do you have? Mine is a KitchenAid ultra power plus with single wide slot, designed to hold two slices but I often fit in three by standing slices on their narrow end and/or slightly overlapping... as bread toasts it shrinks so halfway through the overlap corrects itself because this toaster centers bread slices by a spring action device, sometimes I have to help a bit. And do you like your toast light, medium, or dark... mine has 9 settings... for white I set at 5-6-7 depending on texture, for whole wheat/multi-grain 8, for rye and english muffins 9. This toaster also has separate bagel controls, even for frozen bagels. NYC bagels (there are no other kind) are never toasted unless no longer fresh. Andy, you can't just post that you ate breakfast, you need to give details... and what if anything did you drink, coffee, tea, milk, cola, beer, grape Nehi? Everytime I see Andy posts I visualize Radar. hehe |

I've been making mostly balsamic & Dijon vinaigrette cause I can whip that up in 30 seconds, switching off once in a while with anchovies, lemon juice and olive oil which is more involved. Jon |

I don't think I coated the blueberries well enough in flour before hand. It still tasted good. I don't remember where I got it - but it was definitely on the web. It calls for an eight ounce container of lemon yogurt but those don't exist anymore so I just use a six ounce container. Blueberry Poundcake 2 cups white sugar 1/2 cup butter or margarine 4 oz. cream cheese, softened 3 large eggs 1 large egg-white 3 cups all-purpose flour, divided 2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 8-oz carton low-fat lemon yogurt 2 teaspoon vanilla extract Cooking spray Preheat oven to 350 degrees Beat first 3 ingredients at medium speed of a mixer until well-blended (about 5 minutes). Add eggs and egg white, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cups; level with a knife. Combine 2 Tablespoons flour and blueberries in a small bowl, and toss well. Combine remaining flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add flour mixture to sugar mixture alternately with yogurt, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Fold in blueberry mixture and vanilla; pour cake batter into a 10-inch tube pan or Bundt pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool cake in pan 10 minutes; remove from pan. Tracy |

Odd as it may seem, the best blueberry scones I have ever had (and that includes my own attempts) were in the cafeteria of Boston's Hancock Tower. Before retiring, throughout my entire working career I ate brunch at 10AM morning coffee break time. Many people do likewise. And I still get out of bed and get going on the same schedual as when I worked, usually earlier. The only real difference is that now I may wait a bit later to have brunch, and then I don't eat again until dinner time. It's pretty obvious that you've never held a job, and don't have pets. Just wait until you become an adult and your mommy won't do for you anymore. |

Years ago I'd prepare an entire week's worth of salad on the weekend and mete it out in large tupperware-like bowls lined up in the fridge to bring to work each day... soggy salad never bothered me. I love LOs the next day... all kinds. I like slices of cold baked potato, each slice topped with something... from peanut butter, to ketchup, mustard, cheese, to a good schmear of garlic black bean sauce. |

I did a taste comparison between Franco-American Spaghettios with mini meatballs, and Chef Boyardee Mini Bites with mini meatballs (ABCs and 123s). "The Chef" was far better. --Bryan I'm sure better than anything you can make yourself. I'll eat a lot of no-account foods but I draw the laine at canned pasta... and that garbage is pricey for what it is. I'd much rather a bowl of ramen. |

The first 3-4 hours of the day are when the bulk of the work gets done. After break things slow down a bit. In the summer it's common to get a 15 minute break at 10:00 or 10:30 and work through lunch and go home early. Lou |
