I have bought a boneless Loin Sirloin steak but don't know what to do
with it. I checked some of the recipes online but they are all using much smaller sirloin steaks. Mine is more than 1.75" thick and weighs a little more than 2lbs. Does that mean mine is actually not a sirloin steak? How do I cook this thing? Does any of you have any easy recipes. |

Perhaps this will help: http://www.beefretail.org/udocs/SnS_...loinCapoff.pdf A good way to test your steak for tenderness is to slice off a one inch cube and fry it to like med rare and taste it. If it's tender enough for your liking you can cook the entire piece as a steak... pan/grill/broil. If it's slightly tougher than you'd like you can use a marinade to tenderize it; look up recipes for London Broil. You can also use tougher parts of sirloin for stir fry (look up velvetize), beef stew, or grind it for burgers/chili. |
