Default Thank goodness for a well-stocked pantry

DH has come down with the flu, and it's probably H1N1. I'm not feeling
that great either.

We are going to be okay, though, thanks to a well-stocked pantry and
freezer.

MIL very kindly picked up a few odds and ends we were short of (bread,
one ingredient for me to make bread, etc), and now that's done we should
be good until at least Tuesday, by which time we'll be able to order a
grocery delivery from the only supermarket in town that does them.

Miche,

Sorry to hear you and yours ailing. Do you think the earthquake shook some
bacteria up into the air?

Get well soon!

DRINK SOUP!!! And brandy?

Andy

That's four people I know with swine flu. Take good care, Miche!

Much love,

I hope you feel well enough to actually *make* something. Do you have
plenty of crackers and tea?

You watch yourself, girl. I worry and I want to see you well.

Very sorry to hear of your illnesses. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Will you even FEEL like eating, let alone cooking?

Just get plenty of fluids, luckily they're often cooking-free.

If all fails, call in friends to bring in stuff.

Get some rest,
Kris

My daughter had the <variety of the season> flu last winter, confirmed
by nasal swab, and was deathly ill.

I've been subbing a lot and my exposure is simply massive. Not only do
I not want to get sick, I don't want to be a vector. I mean to be first
in line for both the regular flu shot and the experimental H1N1 vaccine.
I'm also planning to take a lot of vitamin C and to dance widdershins
around an oak tree at the next full moon.

Wish me luck.

It's always a good idea to have a well stocked pantry When you feel
punky (i.e. don't want to cook) sometimes boxed or canned food is a good
idea. Hope you both feel better!

I've been off my feed, which is a bit unusual. I do eat, though,
because I know that's the way to recovery.

Yup. We've had offers to fetch and carry. I have good friends.

Yes, rice crackers and tea. I actually (gasp) made bread yesterday, but
it's a gluten-free recipe and therefore no-knead. If I'd had to knead
dough, I likely wouldn't have bothered.

Considering this is a virus, I doubt it.

Thanks all for the good wishes. We're doing okay so far. DH is getting
better, and it looks as though I have a very mild case. Agent Weasel is
still well and a bit bored at being in quarantine.

Looks like we might just get away with it.

Aw, Chris, you make us sound like a bunch of old farts.

A well stocked pantry is just good sense, and Miche is
cool that way. Now, if all her friends are crook, that
is another matter.

Yet again, we of *seasoned* years would do well to take
appropriate measures to stock up and avoid the H1N1 beast.

Take heed, and watch your health, ma' fren's .

Alex

Take good care of both of yourselves and don't let it evolve into
pneumonia!
