Down here there are fresh oysters aplenty, but they usually require a little extra salt and flavoring. My guess would be "you don't". You just cut back on adding salt to the dish, but I assume you're going to put them *in* something. That may be wrong. Alex, Puzzled. |

shouted from the highest rooftop: >how can you remove the saltiness of fresh clams? I use fresh clams, oysters and mussels a lot and I have never found any of them to be too salty. You didn't say whether your fresh clams were already shucked or if they're still in the shell. If they're still in the shell you can put them into a pan, bowl or clean bucket full of fresh water overnight and let them expel some of the sal****er and sand, etc. Personally, I wouldn't bother. -- una cerveza mas por favor ... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~ Wax-up and drop-in of Surfing's Golden Years: <http://www.surfwriter.net> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~ |
