Default I haved sinned used Kraft Cheddar Cheese

Years ago I swore I would not ever again use Kraft PROCESSED cheddar
cheese.

Some Extra folks arrived from down south well after dinner
and all that was available for a quick easy meal (those that arrived
were Vegetarians)
Normally banned in these parts
But cold wet tired hungry we took pity on them

Well stuff me with a wheelie bin one lass turned out a simple sandwhich
cheese pickle black sauce fresh tomato ,fresh mushrooms and the
dreaded Kraft processed cheese and she added some other stuff yet to be
discovered --------but looks like she raided the mint trays also
Sun dried tomatos and olives also down
Toasted in a Jaffle irons (open fire )

Well it tasted damn good bit heavy on the pepper perhaps, but nice
as in REALLY nice .

Must button hole her tomorrow and get all the ingredients.
Maybe I owe Kraft Cheese an apology .(it was that tasty )

Don't be so hard on yourself!

I wouldn't I'd use it in a sandwich. I certainly wouldn't use it on a Philly
cheesesteak but I do enjoy it in Kraft Mac'n'cheese on occasion.

IMHO Kraft cheese has it's place.

Kraft cheese is like Mickey Dee's - it may ne be the best but you KNOW what
you're going to get.

No sin there!

Agreed.

I wouldn't go that far. The major disconnect with that comparison is, I'll
eat Kraft cheese.

In fact, Kraft Cracker Barrel brand is pretty dang good for off the shelf
supermrkt cheese. I used to like Tillamook, back when the company was young
and you could get it cut from big fresh wheels. Now, I wouldn't spend a
dime on it. Mediocrity has prevailed. That new Argento brand? I wouldn't
eat that crud with your mouth. California Cheese from happy cows?
California crap! Nope. When you compare most of the garbage in the moo
juice bricks section, Kraft starts looking downright decent.

Kraft doesn't make interesting cheeses, but I like all of their
natural cheeses. I usually buy the supermarket brand (Shop'n Save)
for shredded or standard chunk cheese, though I buy Kraft Parmesan. I
never buy process cheese, though I sometimes eat it on fast food
burgers.

But at the end of the day, it *is* supermarket cheese.

It's there for the plebs that don't know about real cheese.

I haven't bought 'supermarket cheese' for about 5 years now..... unless I
can see the wheel it's being cut from, it doesn't come home with me.

The bulk of my cheese comes from here........

http://www.brunyislandcheese.com.au/

The rest comes from my favourite deli who, over the years, have widened
their cheese range enormously.

I wait patiently for their stock of Grana Padano and Pamigiano-Reggiano to
run down, and I'm usually the first one in to get a couple of slabs off
the new wheels :-)

Once they cut a wheel, they then cut the whole wheel into pieces and
vacuum pack it all to maintain some freshness. But the first slabs are
wonderful!!

They open (not cut) a wheel and immediately chop it into pieces that
they vacuum pack?? That is like giving birth to babies and slaughtering
them for veal. An opened wheel exposes the minimum of the surface
of the cheese to the air, and a light covering of wrap will maintain its
freshness (in proper coolness and humidity) for a month or more. Then
it is broken down further as needed, with absolutely minimal oxidation
of the cheese. To wrap it immediately in plastic is to suffocate the poor
cheese, it cannot breathe, it just rots with a lack of air and a surround of
sour gasses. What a bloody shame that some possibly great Italian
cheese forms are treated in such a vile manner.

I know about real cheese, and I don't like it. I've tried real
cheese from time to time, and I'm lucky if I can manage
to swallow it.

I don't like cheese very much, although it is a convenient
source of protein. The milder the better, for me--although
I draw the line at Velveeta. It's like some kind of weird,
pale orange, soft flesh. Kraft medium cheddar, monterey
jack, and mozzarella are my stock cheeses at home.

More for you, Peter.
