You are right Bryan... To test your life, it's better to make sure you
can keep it :-). When you are doing a test of this nature, and have time
to plan, better to plan in your favor. In his (step dad)case, he was
lucky my sister turned on the light. Else, I, as an 8 yr old, wouldn't
have much to have to explain to the authorities.

He never said thanks by the way... just patted me on the shoulder. He
may have been proud. But in truth, he was lucky to be alive. I don't miss.

Bob

Gun safety rule #1, "always be sure of your target and what is beyond
it."
NEVER EVER shoot at shadows.

Not getting ready Bob, just prepared in case I ever have to defend life,
limb and property...

or family members.
It is not a pretty world out there any more.

Stupid.

Wild animals are called "wild" for a good reason...

Feral hogs are wild animals. I know this.

It's why I'm ****ed off that I re-injured my right shoulder over the
weekend. I'd really prefer to use the .308.

You've obviously never met a good Chiro'. There is FAR more to them than
just bone cracking dear. Pardon me for liking them so much, but they

I sprained my right rotator cuff about 3 months ago. Fell sideways while
doing lunges (lost my balance) and fell stiff-armed on the right side.

Ironic that I hurt myself while exercising. <sigh>

Wrenched the hell out of the shoulder. Dr. Perry thinks I tore the right
labrum and sprained it. Takes awhile to heal even with Airrosti
treatments.

It was doing SO well! All I did this time was reach across my chest
when I was in bed to move a fold of blanket, felt and heard a "crunch"
of cartilage.

The pain and reduced range of motion is not as bad as when I first did
it, but it still hurts. So I'm reluctant to put a high powered rifle
with a recoil like the model 88 has against an injured shoulder.

Dr. Perry thinks I initially re-injured it but did not realize it when I
moved a couple of #50 feed bags to the back yard for my pet emu the
previous day...

If *inside* the house, and I know for a fact (checked bedrooms) where
the family members are, *blam* - single shot for a single target. I
don't miss. I also don't pull the trigger without a reason.

The whole know what's behind your target was drilled into me before I
went hunting for the first time. Surprisingly enough by the same
step-dad that almost learned first hand, what a dangerous intruder, in a
bad neighborhood can get. A bullet into someone's cranium is not likely
to travel very much further, if at all.

Exercising is most common for producing physical damage.

I'm not particular. I usually buy Jufran - just by habit... but the
bottle I have now is Mother's Best. Don't know how I ended up with
that. Maybe someone brought it over.

I don't know if anyone else here has visited the NYT's links enough to
notice, but I find the fact that they interrupt on a not so regular
basis their scrub requirement for you to become a member. They don't do
it enough for me to never click on a link, but I do find it annoying.

But blaming it on an RFC member, is not right. The NYTs does it.

Don't mind me. I was in a rare mood and on a tear. Besides, the NYT

You can nevr fully domesticate a wild animal. Look at how many
lion/elephant attacks there are in circuses(?).

Yeahnahbut..... that was one shitfaced dickhead. Most of the rest of us
will only shoot when something needs to be shot, not to see how far a round
wil go through walls.

Lets agree to disagree. You prefer a shotgun for up close work, I prefer a
handgun.

Both get the job done ;-)

They also have you coming back every two weeks for a "re-adjustment".

Good repeat business.

The above treatment is a *single* treatment. And when the rest of the
spine follows the C1 and goes back into place....... no more need for
constant "re-adjustments" from a chiro.

So you can see why Chiros won't tell you about it.

According to what I saw on news TV this morning, "rags" like that are
not just cyber creapers - they will make you register, you will have
to *pay* to read them.

If they wait for me to pay, they'll go under even faster. I quit
buying newspapers a long time ago. Anymore, all your paying for is
advertising. At least on the web, I have some control on how much of
that I have put up with and all the same news is readily available.
Even the columnist put their stuff on the web, somewhere, so it's not
like you're gonna lose your fave talking head.

<snork> indeed.

I had to remind dad that wild means wild last time he tried to
anthropomorphise a young raccoon I was helping out that got clipped by a
car and got badly stunned. Took me about 5 days to rehab her and I was
quite pleased when she snarled and buried her teeth in my welders gloves
one morning.

Meant she was ready to be set free.

Dad's response was "what an ungrateful animal, you saved her life".

I have both available. <g> My other home defense weapon is a Ruger
Redhawk .357. The one advantage of a pistol is that it can be deployed
faster. If I have time to get the shotgun out of it's open case, I'll
use it instead.

Well...since i have lost interest in the UK cooking group (so much for
my being an Anglophile) and the "Mr. Joseph Littleshoes Esq." was for
their benefit, i'll try to come up with a new nom de net.

I've seen footage just recently of a woman who saved a lion and every time
she visits her, he gives her a hug and a lick (taste test???) through the
cage bars. At least she has the brains to stay on the outside of the cage.

Then there was the dufus who rolls around with a croc.

Next time I expect to see anything about Chito is when he's a big pile of
croc shit!!

Have you seen the new show about some twit that runs around letting
poisonous insects, spiders, lizards, snakes, etc, bite him? I'm
holding out for the funnel web spider episode. ;|

I don't watch TV anymore, but if it's spectacular, I'm sure it'll end up
on youtube. <g>

I love cooking with wine.
Sometimes I even put it in the food.
