Inauguration hat, please!

I said that mustard and ketchup don't appeal to me for a BLT, but I've
been known to use Miracle Whip on rare occasions. Have to say that MW
instead of mayo really does take it outside of the canon of acceptable
BLTs, though. :-)

I'm curious which nitwit voted "What's a BLT?" three times.

Soft multi-grain bread
Miracle Whip on one slice
Mayo on the other slice
Crisp bacon, preferably thick cut
Thinly sliced tomato
Sliced avocado
Alfalfa or "Zesty" radish sprouts
Lettuce if no sprouts
DON'T TOAST the BREAD!

I chose MCINL because the word I needed was "never", not sacrilege.

So obviously the option: "It doesn't appeal to me, so I'd have to
say 'No'" went over your head too?

i notice 'sacrilege' is outpolling 'doesn't appeal to me' on two of the
three questions. it's a hotbed of BLT bigotry.

The choices were too wordy and put opinions I don't have into my
mouth, so MCINL was the best choice for me. I don't have an emotional
or culinary dog in that fight, so a simple "no" would have been
enough.

Absolutely! And I'm with the ones who call sacrilege. Now, if you want a
good argument, ask what you put on hotdogs. I use ketchup, mustard,
steak sauce, chopped onions tho' not all simultaneously.

I prefer hotdogs campfire flame broiled on a stick to start with.
Condiments on the bun vary with my mood!

That is NOT a BLT. BMMAS maybe but also maybe a Musgovia aka garbage
sandwich.

But toasting adds additional flavor and texture to the sandwich.

Nothing but chopped onions. I like the dog grilled to a blistered
chocolate
brown, although a touch of black is ok. (I don't really like hot
dogs.)

My husband likes chili, onions, and cheese. I think that's overkill.
Or
possibly my ticket to the good life on his life insurance.

I can have just about anything on hot dogs except ketchup or sweet
relish. I think it might be the sweetness. Then again, the ONLY thing I
like ketchup on is fried potatoes.

Well, ketchup and steak sauce on a hot dog is just wrong, sorry but
somebody had to say it. ;-) Mustard belongs on hot dogs, maybe chopped
onions, sometimes mustard and relish. I also like chili dogs with
cheese, onions and jalapeños. Yum!

No way ketchup goes on my hot dogs. the very idea of it disgusts me, but
I dolike relish on them.

I put ketchup in and on meatloaf and I like it on macaroni and cheese,

Ketchup would be a nice counter-point to a hot mustard, or with the hot
peppers (or hot relish) added.

Make mine boiled or grilled.
Then top with either regular yellow mustard and lots or onions or
chili and lots of onions.

No ketchup or relish.

When I just took the poll, "sacrilege" was the #1 pick for *all* the
questions. I don't get all that worked up about it, so I chose "depends on
mood" for the mustard and Miracle Whip questions, and "doesn't appeal to me"
for ketchup.

Perhaps a more interesting way of framing the questions would have been, "If
you were visiting the home of a friend, and that friend served you a BLT
with mustard on it, would you eat it?"

The answers could be:

- No! It's sacrilege!
- No; I'd gag and be unable to eat it.
- I'd eat it, but try to enlighten my friend as to the *right* condiments
for a BLT
- Sure, I'm not picky
- Yes, I like it that way
- Depends on whether the friendship has benefits

Ooh yeah. German style. :-)

Kraut, Mustard, swiss cheese and dill relish! ;-d
Maybe a bit of mayo with that, maybe not.
