Default Last night's dinner

Had our usual Friday night dinner with daughter's family and a few extra
guests.

I had found a nice looking package of pork tenderloins at Costco and
decided to grill the four of them with a different marinade/rub on each.

--brown mustard and brown sugar
--sea salt and fresh ground pepper, lots
--homemade teriyaki marinade
--rubbed with homemade spice blend which I may have posted here

With the pork I served:
--small new potatoes, oiled and tossed with butter and parsley
--broccoli just blanched till tender-crunchy, with lemon juice
--ensalata Caprese with some nice native tomatoes, mozzarella, fresh
picked basil (I LOVE having basil just outside the door!) and a
drizzle of olive oil

Dessert was a choice of three fruit sorbets and homemade ginger cookies.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the meal and the ensuing poker game which DH
had planned. I don't enjoy playing cards so I cleaned up the kitchen
with the help of Dear Grandson who is about to turn 8 years old and is
interested in cooking.

A successful dinner but too many leftovers in the fridge between dinner
and the card game snacks.

It all sounds wonderful and delicious! Too bad we aren't closer
because my grandson is the same age (July) and interested in cooking
too. It would be fun to get together with the grandkids and cook
sometime.

I love cooking with wine.
Sometimes I even put it in the food.

One of my very favorite desserts is lemon sorbet and thin, crisp ginger
cookies.

The dinner sounds great, Gloria!

Rib eye steak (grilled inside), baked potatoes and oven roasted
brussels sprouts tonight. Best of all, hubby is cooking.

Your dinner sounds wonderful, and who doesn't love a good game of poker on a
Friday night. It is this kind of night in that will be in your
grandchildren's memories when they are old. I have great memories of the
families around the table eating and playing games.
